1) Review of systems, policies and procedures need to implement
to ensure for proper communication
Communication is an integral and fundamental element of every
healthcare set up. For proper communication regarding health and
safety in organizations, the executives or directors need to
implement certain models of communication (Bennie and et.al,.
2018). Systematic approach and planning to execute strong
communication is the key to success within any healthcare set up.
National Health Service, the health system of England has
advanced policies for each of its trusts for proper and strong
communications between its employees and patients. Winchester
and East Leigh trust has effective communication module to
facilitate its services. The trust has adopted efficient
communication systems and technologies to adhere with various
advanced treatments. The risk assessment tools in the organization
is effective to ensure the existence of proper communication aids in
the premises. Apart from this, Winchester and East Leigh trust is
highly confined with HSE strategies to improvise its
communication Strategies. The trust has adopted RIDDOR system
which is an effective tool that improvise the communication within
the organization.
Since, HSE has planned adequate tools and strategies for effective
health and safety information flow within the healthcare providers.
The new director of included organization need to analyze various
factors within hospital that affect the communication process
between employees. There must be a proper implication of
committees, consultants and support systems to enhance the
internal communication of the hospital. The adoption of advanced
technologies must have a significant handling protocol to ensure
that it is being utilized in a proper way.
1.2) Assessment of the responsibilities for managing health and
safety within NHS trust
Every health organizations have significant responsibilities for
managing its health and safety procedures. These responsibilities vary
with the type and structure of the organization. The management of
different health and safety policies are carried out by the involvement
of key decision makers and professionals of the hospital. The
organizations are responsible to create an approachable and feasible
healthcare systems for the community. There must be proper planning
regarding health policies according to the health status of population
of that area. The hospitals are responsible to provide utmost quality
care and prompt services to its customers.
North Staffordshire, another NHS trusts provide regulatory healthcare
services in southern England. The organization has set different
strategic responsibilities for managing and safeguarding health and
safety within its premises. All the duties and responsibilities are
designed under its commissioning group. The trust has effective
strategic forum to upscale different healthcare policies and standards.
The trust has a formulated structure demonstrating responsibilities for
patient care and related standards. Infection control and prevention is
one of its basic responsibilities to create an adaptive and healthy
environment for its patients. It adopts protocols for proper staffing to
build high level of operational excellence. It shows its responsiveness
towards patients by adopting Care Quality Commission within its
services which has increased its performance and quality of care.
Furthermore, the trust has a responsibility of maintaining effective
communication among the working staff to reduce the chances of
misinterpretation of the information delivered by healthcare
employers to working staff.
1.3) Analysis of children health and safety priorities in NHS
Hospitals
Health and safety priorities at every healthcare set up deals with
different parameters. It includes the safety regarding hospital
infrastructure, food and dietary services and effective vaccination
systems and other health and safety policies.
The priorities of NHS hospitals for child care is to provide
significant benefits to children along with standardized and quality
of care. It has effective nursing staff and different day care facilities
to handle the children.
Pediatrics, maternity and neonatal services of NHS are efficient to
cater the child health. It has effective immunization systems and
efficient nutritionists to plan proper diet for new born and their
mothers. The trust has adopted significant breast feeding program to
address proper guidance and support to females. Apart from this, it
effectively adopts the RIDDOR system for proper and timely
reporting of child injury and any type of risk related to child or
mother health.
NHS hospitals also has referral hub to cater the mental health of
children and adolescents which includes professionalized and
sensitized healthcare professionals to cater mental illness among
children. It focuses on Autistic disorders in children by trained
healthcare professional teams. The trust also based on the references
by schools, pediatricians, psychologists and therapists to treat the
mental illness among children.
It has inpatient services to monitor severe mental disorders among
children and young patients. Along with this, the services at NHS
Hospitals for children and adolescents is handled by its proper care
planning developed by related risk assessments.
