Introduction:
“According to the World Health Organisation, a healthy and sustainable diet
are dietary patterns that promote all dimensions of an individual's health and
wellbeing” [1]. Diets, which have less environmental impacts, can contribute to food
and nutrition security. Healthy and sustainable diet ensure the healthy life of the
present generation and upcoming generation. Healthy and sustainable diets are not
only respectful towards biodiversity and ecosystem but also culturally accessible,
affordable, healthy, nutritionally adequate, economically fair and safe. The annual

referred that 1.3 billion people have suffered due to food insecurity at moderate
levels, which means these people do not have regular access to sustainable

vegetable consumption as a part of a healthy and sustainable diet. The quantity of
vegetable consumed by Australian adults will be discussed. The relationship
between food and the environment will be analysed. The role of government and
university campus food business and consumers regarding the intake of vegetable
food will be discussed. A peer-reviewed article will be analysed to understand the
significance of this issue.
