INTRODUCTION
In order to provide welfare to societies and prevent people from high risk of
uncertainties, many NGOs and organisations of London run various programs. As thousands of
people are facing homelessness issues especially children, therefore, to provide a sustainable life,
many charitable trusts of UK give support to government for the same (Alewine and Stone,
2013). The present assignment is going to discuss about one of the charity association named by
DePaul who provides shelter and accommodations to children and young people, to live a better
life. Currently it wants to open a centre in Royal Borough of Greenwich, London in order to
provide healthcare services and other accommodations to vulnerable children. To check viability
of idea, its management is going to analyse the current scenario of this city, which helps in
measuring the success or failure of new project over there. For this purpose, PEST tool is taken
to evaluate changing factors of macro environment. Furthermore, recommendation is also given
to DePaul in launching its new centre in Greenwich.
PEST
PEST analysis refers to a strategic tool that helps in analysing the macro environment of
organisation. It focuses on various factors like political, economic, social and technology that
impacts directly on organisation and financial players of marketplace (Fengou, Mantas and
Lymberopoulos, 2012). In context with Royal Borough of Greenwich, this city was formed in
1965 in South-east London. In order to launch a business here, it is essential for any entrepreneur
to overview the reliability of project. In this regard, PEST analysis entails a great detail about
operating challenges a company will face in prevalent with changing factors of macro
environment. Through this analysis, organisation dealing in any sector can make mind or
strategy how to deal with such situations, like unstable political environment, economical

Overview of Charity and its aims
Young people are sleeping rough is considered as one of the most shocking and increasingly
problems in Greenwich and other cities of London. Here, thousands of people are seen who more
spending their night on buses, roads or sofa surfing (Garkoti, Peddoju and Balasubramanian,
2014). In this regard, family breakdown, child sexual exploitation, exiting gangs and leaving
foster care are few of the reasons where young people especially belongs 16 to 25 years are
referred to local authority due to risk of homelessness. They would help homeless people
housing and support, food and health services etc. to live a better life. Concern on such issues of
homeless young people, charity members have opened an organisation by the name DePaul. This
housing association is now working with young people age, who are experiencing homelessness
and problems in living a sustaining life, to provide emergency accommodation, supported
housing and other services, in order to help needy people in rebuilding their (Kim and Chung,
2014).
DePaul provides a range of accommodation and services for homeless young people for
better settlement of life. It currently wants to open a new centre in Royal Borough of Greenwich,
in order to give emotional and practical support to homeless youngsters in finding a correct job,
earning money and live independently lives (Moore, 2013).
Main Aim: DePaul mainly targets to provide shelter to at least 10,000 homeless young people
within a year, by working in collaboration with business co-partners.
Support Service: It provides accommodations, health support as well as life skills to homeless
and vulnerable people (Kim, Kim and Eom, 2013). This would help in getting training and
personality development opportunity to get an employment in specific field.
DePaul’s Impact: Providing practical and emotional support in other cities of London and UK
to vulnerable people, for earning a good life, aid DePaul in becoming one of the effective charity
association (Graves and Fitchett, 2012). Its supporters and core business partners have been
swapping beds for sleeping bags, in order to raise money and bring awareness for vulnerable and
homeless people, to get shelter here.

aim behind new policies and strategies is to deliver the accessible services for prevention of
homelessness and assistance of homeless households, by focusing on long term affordable as
well as sustainable housing. Here, primary strategic concern is given on finding the effective
sustainable housing solutions for people that is at high risk of homelessness. JSNA give support
to children by providing proper education, high quality as well as innovative services to
homeless households.
CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) intends to run best medical practices and give

2014). Here, New Horizon Centre is specially launched to youngsters of age 16 to 25 years,
where they can make contact to local authorities for getting social services (Get Help, 2019).
Information related to some useful helplines are also available in this site that includes- Crises
(0300 636 1967), Shelter (0808 800 4444) and Get Connected (0808 808 4994), Run Away
Helplines (116 000), Child line (0800 1111) etc. Through these apps children and youth can
approach local authorities to find a job, training opportunities and more. This would give them
opportunity to live a sustainable life.
CCG also launch an app as ‘housing app and advice team’ where people facing health
issues, mental problems and other can approach to government to get help. This technology give
support to health promoters and Medical beneficiaries in improving health and condition of
people (Moore, 2013). They can get many options to live sustainable life and prevent from risk
of unnecessary dependence of others for the same.

RECOMMENDATION
From above PEST analysis, it has been analysed that government and local authorities of
Royal Borough of Greenwich provides support to people facing high uncertainty of risks related
to homelessness. They provide financial, practical and emotional support to health promoters and
NGOs in helping people to overcome from uncertainty of homeless. Therefore, it has
recommended to DePaul that idea for launching new centre in this city of London proves
beneficial for providing welfare to societies.
