INTRODUCTIONIn order to provide welfare to societies and prevent people from high risk ofuncertainties, many NGOs and organisations of London run various programs. As thousands ofpeople are facing homelessness issues especially children, therefore, to provide a sustainable life,many charitable trusts of UK give support to government for the same (Alewineand Stone,2013). The present assignment is going to discuss about one of the charity association named byDePaul who provides shelter and accommodations to children and young people, to live a betterlife. Currently it wants to open a centre in Royal Borough of Greenwich, London in order toprovide healthcare services and other accommodations to vulnerable children. To check viabilityof idea, its management is going to analyse the current scenario of this city, which helps inmeasuring the success or failure of new project over there. For this purpose, PEST tool is takento evaluate changing factors of macro environment. Furthermore, recommendation is also givento DePaul in launching its new centre in Greenwich. PEST PEST analysis refers to a strategic tool that helps in analysing the macro environment oforganisation. It focuses on various factors like political, economic, social and technology thatimpacts directly on organisation and financial players of marketplace (Fengou, MantasandLymberopoulos, 2012). In context with Royal Borough of Greenwich, this city was formed in1965 in South-east London. In order to launch a business here, it is essential for any entrepreneurto overview the reliability of project. In this regard, PEST analysis entails a great detail aboutoperating challenges a company will face in prevalent with changing factors of macroenvironment. Through this analysis, organisation dealing in any sector can make mind orstrategy how to deal with such situations, like unstable political environment, economicalfluctuations, facts and figures of number of population, etc. This analysis also gives an ideaabout different external environmental aspects, which will aid both profit and non-profitorganisation to get understand the whole scenario more transparent (Almutairi, Dahinten andRodney, 2015). In context with charities and trustees who establish rehabilitation centre in orderto help homelessness and other problems of vulnerable societies, can understand needs of themproperly by using Pest analysis. 1
Overview of Charity and its aimsYoung people are sleeping rough is considered as one of the most shocking and increasinglyproblems in Greenwich and other cities of London. Here, thousands of people are seen who morespending their night on buses, roads or sofa surfing(Garkoti, Peddoju and Balasubramanian,2014). In this regard, family breakdown, child sexual exploitation, exiting gangs and leavingfoster care are few of the reasons where young people especially belongs 16 to 25 years arereferred to local authority due to risk of homelessness. They would help homeless peoplehousing and support, food and health services etc. to live a better life. Concern on such issues ofhomeless young people, charity members have opened an organisation by the name DePaul. Thishousing association is now working with young people age, who are experiencing homelessnessand problems in living a sustaining life, to provide emergency accommodation, supportedhousing and other services, in order to help needy people in rebuilding their (Kimand Chung,2014). DePaul provides a range of accommodation and services for homeless young people forbetter settlement of life. It currently wants to open a new centre in Royal Borough of Greenwich,in order to give emotional and practical support to homeless youngsters in finding a correct job,earning money and live independently lives (Moore, 2013). Main Aim: DePaul mainly targets to provide shelter to at least 10,000 homeless young peoplewithin a year, by working in collaboration with business co-partners. Support Service: It provides accommodations, health support as well as life skills to homelessand vulnerable people (Kim, Kimand Eom, 2013). This would help in getting training andpersonality development opportunity to get an employment in specific field. DePaul’s Impact: Providing practical and emotional support in other cities of London and UKto vulnerable people, for earning a good life, aid DePaul in becoming one of the effective charityassociation (Gravesand Fitchett, 2012). Its supporters and core business partners have beenswapping beds for sleeping bags, in order to raise money and bring awareness for vulnerable andhomeless people, to get shelter here. Mission: “The current mission of DePaul charity association is to open a new charitable centrein Royal Borough of Greenwich, where maximum minority belongs to black people.”2
