HEALTH INPUT AND OUTPUT
CMM93010-Health Systems, Policies and Practices_1

Abstract
The economic analysis of the healthcare system is one of the latest trends in the healthcare
setting around the world. The technological assessment of the healthcare programs has become
one of the foremost healthcare aspects. This includes efficient patient care, utility in quality care
and keeping sustainability between healthcare service and demand. The whole analysis has been
established in the context of shaping the healthcare system. The shape of the healthcare system
has been segregated into two parts inputs and outputs. The healthcare inputs include the raw
materials used in healthcare systems like finances, personnel, policies, important healthcare
equipment, expertise, energy, sufficient funds, commodities, related information and time. The
social, cultural, political and environmental factors are the intangible factors of healthcare inputs.
The described outputs are the outcome of the healthcare practice obtained in inputs. This
includes delivering an efficient, productive and high-quality service.

Evaluation of the healthcare inputs
The healthcare inputs are the efforts put in by the healthcare officials for the betterment of the
healthcare practice. The inputs can be differentiated into two parts; required raw materials for
healthcare inputs and intangible factors that must be invested for a better healthcare output
(Shakina & Molodchik, 2013). The required raw materials for the healthcare inputs are effective
finances, efficiency in policymaking, the healthcare personnel, the required facility for the
patients and essential healthcare equipment, required funds, essential information and time
(Shakina & Molodchik, 2013). The intangible factors are social, cultural, political and
environmental factors.

Effective finances: Adequate finance in healthcare system brings more efficiency in the health
cost management. Proper financing and effective maintenance of the cost spending are helpful in
measuring the healthcare inputs (Mandal, Bhattacharjee & Banerjee, 2016). It is notable that the
financial investment in the healthcare practice in Australia is lower as compared to other nations.
However, the life expectancy in Australia is close to 82 years that signifies their developed
healthcare performance (Huo et al., 2016). The effective financial input is considered to be the
key reason for this healthy life expectancy rate.
