Introduction – Chronic Disease
The Australian health sector is facing a big challenge from the persistent impacts of
chronic diseases for example diabetes.
Peoples' health quality life is also affected by chronic diseases since it causes
consequences to both the economic and social status of an individual.
In Australia, chronic diseases are a burden on the health sector in causing health
complications to society. It is the leading cause of disability, health disorders, and death
to the Australian peoples (Rheault, Coyer, Jones, & Bonner, 2019).
In this paper, chronic disease (diabetes) will be discussed relating to health style,
research about the disease, and how business strategically influences by a modern
healthy lifestyle.

Lifestyle
In Australia, more than 11 million of its population that is 50% are reported suffering
from chronic disease. One of the eight people selected is affected by diabetes as part of
chronic diseases.
About gender, it shows that 52% are female compared to the male, which are 48%.
Social-economic and regional status are the people who also determine the spread of
diabetes.
National Health Survey (NHS) and the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has
identified a group of diseases that are termed as a chronic illness leading to diabetes.

Improving healthy human lifestyle is one of the protective measures used to overcome chronic
disease (diabetes) in Australia.
These health lifestyles involve both a balanced diet and regular physical exercise.
Poor nutrition is one of the leading cause and risk factors leading to diabetes (Brennan,
Dunstone, & Wakefield, 2018).
The government and the World Health Organization are playing a significant role in improving
the healthy lifestyle of humans in the sense of reducing the effect of diabetes as one of chronic
disease.
