1. Why is the issue a priority for the Australian healthcare industry? (100 words)
Response
Cardiovascular disease is one of greatest health problems of Australia which increased
the global burden of disease. This issue becomes public health priority because of the
high rate of occurrence which disrupts the normal life of a significant number of
Australians. As discussed by heart disease affects one in six Australians, indicating 4.2
million Australian are affected because of cardiovascular disease (Sanchez et al. 2019).
CVD is was a vital cause of hospitalization of 575,800 individuals from 2016 to 2017.
Moreover, approximately 610000 people die because of heart disease in Australia (Sahle
et al. 2016). Heart foundation took initiatives in order to resolve the problem through
health promotional programs.

2. Describe the health promotion program and discuss the key features that are used to
address the health issue? (400 words).
Response
Active living NWS was the health promotion program which was established in April 2017
in order to address cardiovascular disease (Heartfoundation.org.au 2019). The program
was established with the collaboration of the NSW Ministry of Health and the National
Heart Foundation (Heartfoundation.org.au 2019). The other members of the health
promotion include health promotional officer, health professionals The program was
designed in order to support the wellbeing of the individuals who are suffering from the
severe cardiovascular disease and at high risk of experiencing a heart attack. In Australia,
approximately 16000 deaths occurred in 2007 and the primary cause of death was
overweight or obesity (Giuliano et al. 2017). The other risk factors include smoking, living
a sedentary lifestyle, and uncontrolled diabetes, high level of c - reactive protein,
controlled stress, and anger . These risk factors are contributors to fetal heart disease
such as coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, myocardial,
and stroke (McCoske and Matan 2018). Hence, the active living NSW established by the
heart foundation for promoting the active living through influencing social as well as
physical environments in which communities live. The target group of the program is the
individuals aged in between 40 to 65 years who are at high risk of developing
cardiovascular disease (Heartfoundation.org.au 2019). The key features of the program
were supporting physical activity and healthy built environment through implementing
new south wales healthy eating and active living strategy. This program aimed to
encourage the population of new south wales for creating healthy lifestyle choices by
involving in the physical activities, improving access to the health care services, building a
