1HEALTHCARE ASSIGNMENT Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a critical healthcare condition that is affecting more than 18.3% population in Australia s mentioned by the Department of Health Australia (2019). There are several policies and strategies developed by the governmental authorities so that all the complication related to CHD could be eliminated. The healthcare policy that should be implemented by the healthcare facilities in this aspect should be able to target the primary reasons due to which people develop risk of coronary heart disease. This include their sedentary lifestyle, lack of healthy diet and nutrition, higher rate of lipid accumulation due to consumption of junk food and alcohol abuse (Australian Women’s Health Network, 2019). Hence, by targeting these epidemiological factor it could prevent the occurrence of CHD among the population. One such policy is National Women’s Health Policy 2010 that was developed for the prevention of critical health conditions including CHD for women is Australia. The primary feature of this policy is addressing the immediate as well as the future healthcare challenges of CHD and other critical illness with the description of the fundamental ways that affect the health of women in the society (Australian Women’s Health Network, 2019). Hence, it addresses the critical healthcare condition CHD with aims and goals to eliminate the healthcare inequality. As the epidemiology of CHD is associated with lifestyle, nutrition and their substance abuse, hence this policy focuses on meeting the needs of women and then helps them with holistic care (Australian Women’s Health Network, 2019). Hence, the epidemiological aspect of CHD is targeted through this healthcare policy and this should be implemented for the entire population so that a cumulative prevention against the critical health condition could be achieved.
