This literature review focuses on the planning and framework while setting up a healthcare facility overseas. It discusses the need to evaluate social, socio-economical, legal, and biomedical factors before progressing with a health care project overseas. The review also highlights the importance of a critical demographical study, statistics and figures pertaining to the incidence of inpatient and outpatient services, and a strategic audit. The paper identifies gaps in the literature, such as the consideration of environmental risk factors and existing political and legislative factors.
