In the healthcare industry, advancement in technology has changed the structure
drastically and AI has entered the hospitals around the world. In this sector, technology
change may lead to replacing the doctors in hospitals and clinics in some cases but will
not be able to take place of the doctor (Oakden-Rayner). AI helps in diagnosing some
illness; recent research has revealed that technology advancement helps in diagnosing
eye disease, skin cancer, and arrhythmias. In the future, the patients will interact with
medical AI for these problems. AI provides various benefits to doctors and helps them in
operating. It will help the physicians to make an accurate diagnosis as the system will
help in analyzing the problem and can start the treatment on time. Currently, surgeons
are using robots in operation theatre to help them in surgery but Doctors have control
over the machine and they perform as a slave, not as masters (Jaiprakash & Roberts).
In 1970, doctors were doing their work without any artificial intelligence and it was very
time consuming to do the treatment of patients. At that time, it was very difficult also to
diagnose the problems. An earlier doctor has to perform all the tasks and treatment of
the patients.
In 2060, operating robotic-assisted surgery will be done with the help of technology
advancement and may replace the surgeons. Automated dispensing robots may take
away the responsibilities of the doctors in administration as artificial intelligence would
enable the machines to make the serious decision in health care and also they will
coordinate with patient care, as the doctors are facing challenges because of the
integration of new technologies in their practice (Shavandi, Ghanbari, & Hadavandi,
2012). Till 2060 advanced technology will help in transcending the implementation and
perform an action to achieve the outcome.
In 2060, many different skills will be required for doctors than today. Understanding of
technology will be important. They will be required to learn computer skills to operate
advanced machines. Robots may be performing the various tasks and help in
diagnosing but doctors will be involved in the decision making processes.
