Implementation of change in the management of healthcare organization is essential for
staff and organization growth and development1. In criticism, it must be noted that change is
often met with resistance and apprehension especially when there is a lack of staff centered
approaches and direct staff involvement2. Self-reflection has been regarded as beneficial for
initiating change behavior. In criticism, change without incorporation of staff participation and
empowerment would be unproductive3. Hence, self-reflection must involve managers to assist
staff in self-reflection and empowerment by providing training and opportunity of reflection and
incorporation of staff views in the change process4.

The use of electronic health records (EHR) is currently being considered now a
prerequisite for deliverance of quality patient care. By maintaining electronic records of patient
details using quality information technology systems, EHR documentation ensures patient
security and privacy5. In criticism, unauthorized EHR access can result in unwanted access to
