1RECOMMENDATIONS Recommendations The first four chapters of the dissertation has been able to establish the fact that leaders play an effective role for developing integration and improving the care quality in health care settings. Similarly, developing a appropriate organizational culture and managing the workforce effectively is essential for improving the quality of service provided in health care setting. The leaders in the healthcare industry should be moving to modern leadership styles as there has been drastic change in the organization settings and workforce in the past decade. The first thing that the health care organization have to do is improve the quality of work.This has to be executed by making the employees understand the values of the organization. This helps in keeping the employees in align with the organizational goals and objectives.This facilitates the managers in effectively monitoring and controlling the behaviour of the employees so that they can reach optimum level of productivity. This strategy is cost effective and initially have to be implemented for a short-term basis initially to check if there are any changes or not. However, as this is not feasible for a long-term basis, the healthcare centres will have to induct the employees into the company’s beliefs and motivate them to work in accordance to the company goal and objective. In order to do, the organization should make use of different programs to engage the employees effectively so that effective team work is developed. The employees should be given opportunities to communicate with their superiors about their issues and problems they face while performing. This will help to solve the issues and lead to better management of the workforce and development of effective organizational culture. This is cost expensive and has to be implemented on a long-term basis. The introduction of skill development programs
2RECOMMENDATIONS and interactive sessions regarding the issues will add up to the cost of the organization. However, this cost will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the work the staffs do. These strategies should be implemented on 5-year basis. This will also facilitate informal learning due to increase in team work and collaboration. The majority of the work the staffs is learned on the job and only 10% of it is learned during the training so regular training will increase their level of skills and provide them with the opportunity of taking new job roles in the organization. The success of one employee motivates the others to work harder and follow the same path. The democratic form of leadership is the best type of leadership than can be implemented in these scenarios but as the contingency theory states that there is no correct style of leadership and leadership style changes as per the situation. The organization should also develop effective communication that is two way and in order to do so, the healthcare organizations should develop their own digital newspapers to keep the employees updated on company decisions and change in policies. Similarly, the employees should also be able to communicate to the upper level of management so that they can solve issues at lower levels at fast as possible.
