1HEALTHY AGEING
Introduction
On the basis of Frederic’s case the factors of the healthy living can be highlighted. He has
been seen to be a healthy old person and live in a way that effectively helps in his health
sustainment as well (Ellis et al., 2018). However, recently it has been seen that he is losing his
memory and also having joint pain and stiffness. Regarding his health concerns he attended a
session with a GP. GP stated that he needs to take into account four strategies that can possibly
be able to help him reduction of the health issues of Frederic. These strategies include diet
control that is taking only 1800 Kcal per day in order to lose 10 Kg of weight, weight lifting
activities for physical fitness and also the muscle strengthening, club joining for social
interaction and 120 mg Ginkgo biloba intake for the memory improvement. However, Frederic
was not that much confident about the strategies and also asked for the proof for the
effectiveness of the strategies. Hence, the GP provided him some journals to check if the
strategies are effective or not. 4 journals provided by the GP based on the physical activity and
resistant training would be reviewed in the following section.
Literature review
According to Daskalopoulou et al. (2017), 39 percent of the odds increase in the process
of healthy ageing by the implementation of the physical activity. On this context they also found
that the perspective of the physical activity and the exercise is the main factor that affects the
knowledge and attitude of the people. However, regular physical activities would impact over the
body positively and thus the effect of the ageing would be lessened. Hence, the healthy living
can be facilitated by the process of the physical exercise implementation. The authors used the
systematic review on 23 articles as the process of the study and on the basis of the Meta analysis

they found that the effects of the physical activity and the resistance training would be helpful in
the flexibility and also the muscle strengthening process. Thus it will effectively help in the
healthy ageing process. On the other hand it has also been seen that the memory retention and
also the cognitive improvement of the person would also be impacted by the implementation of
the resistance training or daily physical activities. Other than this it also has been stated that the
process of the intervention of the physical health can be assisted by the physical activities (Beard
et al., 2016).
Vasiliadis and Bélanger (2018), highlighted that the process of the health related quality
of life would be dependent on the mental state of the person. However, the study was conducted
with the help of 3 year cohort study on the basis of the physical activities among 967 participants
who have mini mental score over 26. This study highlighted that the increasing amount of
exercise would be effectively helpful in the process of the muscle strengthening and also
physical fitness development which also impact over the mental state of the person. Thus the
effect of the mental health also plays a key role in the process of the healthy ageing. On this
context it can be stated that the facto of the physical exercises play a key role in the quality of
life improvement (Viña et al., 2016). On this process it can be seen that the participants show an
effective improvement based on the process of the exercise. It can be stated that the effectiveness
of the exercise on healthy ageing has been clearly seen as well. Mental stress reduction also can
be assisted by the process of the resistance training and also the physical activities. It can be
stated that the process of the physical activities effectively help in the hormonal balance in the
body thus it leads to the proper development of the body as well. Thus it can be stated that the
process of the resistance training would be helpful in the process of the quality of life
improvement and thus the healthy ageing can be facilitated by this kind of intervention. The
