INTRODUCTION
Tourism is the theory or practice which assist the business to attract, accommodating and
entertaining tourist along with the operating tours of business. More tourism helps in reaping the
growth (Barthel-Bouchier, 2012). This report is mainly focused on heritage and cultural tourism
management and also having a content on Tibet 'the roof of world'. This assignment focuses on
the growth and development of Tibet heritage city. Further, types of ownership which is having
the management rights of these sites has to be discussed.
TASK 1
1.1 Evaluation of growth and development of heritage industry
Heritage refers to the events and process which have a special meaning in the memory of
group. It helps in focusing or highlighting the importance of enhancing or preserving the culture
of rich heritage is Tibet. This country helps in symbolizing the inheritance of heritage and
culture. The country having the high geographical area which assist in taking the high altitude
that are admired to be visited Tibet by tourist which are coming from the different places from
all over the world to enjoy the accessibility of the different areas of the region with the proper

support of the efficiency of the transportation system. The citizens of the country have to develop
the areas as the importance of the development of the heritage in the country can be analyzed or
assessed by the attraction of the tourist in the large number so that they can explore the beauty of
the country. They have to do the more collection of the various human constructed by which they
can built the heritage within the environment of the unique heritage of the country which
includes the overall development of the nation so that they can increase the income which can be
earned from the sector of travel and tourism. The regulatory bodies of the country have to design
or prepare the appropriate the list of plans which succor in promoting the heritage area as well as
the cultural development of the region. Natural heritage attracts the tourist on account of the
beautiful location which includes beautiful location, forest, national park, wildlife and many
more. Natural heritage is the symbol of beauty of the nature. The person or citizens of Tibet
helps in exploring the art so that they can construct the historical buildings which is unique
which includes museums, artifacts, sculpture and monuments. Projects such as Intercontinental
Hotel groups helps in planning by which they can establish Resort Lhasa Paradise with having
approx 1200 rooms it is the feature by which they can attract the tourist. The cultural heritage of
the world which influenced the person so that they cannot exploit the natural resources. It has
been observed by the regulatory body of China to do the renovation of Barkhor district situated
in Lhasa-capital of Tibet. The role of heritage culture is that they assist in shaping the country.
Tibetan culture has been follow the beliefs so that they can emerged from Buddhism. Married
women in Tibet wear unique dress which is designed and by that they can symbolize that women
is married. The food which they are eating that is enriched with the elements that is fat and
protein by which they enable the people so that they can survive in climatic condition. The
person who are making the Tibetan food they are using the barley which is a major cultivated
crop. Tibet is augment with distinction from cultural and natural heritage which symbolize the
uniqueness of region among those of different surrounding region.
1.2 Potential conflicts
It is very necessary for Tibet that they have to conserve the heritage and cultural site for
future. They have to do the proper development of places by which many tourist attract as these
are the assets of the country (Cano, Lafuente and Bastidas, 2010). Along with this ministry
bodies have to conserve these sites. But sometimes conflict occur in the conservation process
which includes :-

Access versus erosion – Tourist attract from those destination which have easy access. Along
with this regulatory bodies have to provide the best transportation services to their tourist and at
that point conflict occur that most of the places situated on the mountains and not easy to reach
there. The government have to make a proper way by providing shades and rest areas and this is
a issues which denotes access versus erosion.
Impact of visitors on tourist places and their environment – Tourist wants all facilities so that
tourist can reach their destination. Along with this they want proper stay and accommodation in

or renovate the monument as they are having a spiritual significance in Tourist and Tibetan also.
So, this can create the conflict for the regulatory bodies to do the proper changes without
changing the design of historical places (Chelazzi and et. al., 2013).
Brown field sites versus green field sites – The government of China have to make or provide
the some new accommodations or facilities to visitors and for that they have to make the new
buildings in the traditional style and that should be attractive. It is not a easy task for the
governments because Tibet is situated on the hilly areas and that place having rivers, mountains.
The members have to take decisions by experts to use land in Lhasa.
Capital cost and generation of profit or revenue – In this, government have to make the
appropriate budgets so that they can do proper investments. The management staff have to make
the expenses for the capital investments so that they can generate the fair price of tickets. Local
bodies and government of China may have their interest to generate the revenue and this cause a
conflict. They have to make proper investment so that they can create the high revenue and have
to make the prices which is suitable for tourist (Chirikure and Pwiti, 2008).

2.1 Purpose of heritage and cultural attractions
Museums and academics play a important role in influencing the various tourist so that
they confront them with the beauty of the different cultural heritage of the different region which
is having the unique identity which is related to the cultural belief and assumptions. This section
is focused on promoting the travel and tourism sector British Museum and Royal Academy of
Arts (Choi and et. al., 2010). Along with this it highlights the role of constructed historical
monuments and buildings. They have to do research work, entertainment and educational
purpose so that they can carry out the recreational activities which are :-
Research work should be done by students or scientists – The museum has provided the facility
to do the research so that they can carry out the research facility by which they can explore the
different parts of the world. They have to use the appropriate traditional tools and methods which
can be adopted during ancient civilization so that they can draw conclusion by which they can
modify the elements and attain the benefits.
Provide entertainment to children and families – British Museum has been providing the
entertainment to children and family which helps in confronting before different civilization.
Consumers, customs and traditional values are adopted by the members so that they can present
the proper model. By the cultural heritage children improve the knowledge (Daniele, Taglieri
and Quaresima, 2008). Family can visit the museum as a holiday trip by which they can
influence travel to all over globe so that they can enjoy the different custom and climate

importance of acknowledging the facts and figures by which they symbolize the ancient cultural

To do the management of the different culture and heritage site is a complex task which

ancient civilization of numerous culture. The company members have to control and preserve the

appropriate structure so that they have to follow the management style which includes :-

more tourist and by that they can make a holiday trip as a memorable one. This type of

public interest. Monuments represents the cultural background of the different geographical
areas. It helps in attaining the importance towards the cultural diversity and also the uniqueness

(Kolar and Zabkar, 2010). These monuments helps in symbolizing the historical wealth of the
country so that they can do the appropriate management so that they can ensure the existence.

Mix ownership – This type of management includes the involvement of government as well as
private ownership. Mix ownership involve the maximum protection of the public interest as well

resources. Travel and tourism sector helps in promoting the hospitality industry as well as
transportation sector. The citizens of Tibet have to do overall development so that they can boost
up the increment in the Gross Domestic Product of the nation.
