INTRODUCTION
Tourism is the theory or practice which assist the business to attract, accommodating and
entertaining tourist along with the operating tours of business. More tourism helps in reaping the
growth (Barthel-Bouchier, 2012). This report is mainly focused on heritage and cultural tourism
management and also having a content on Tibet 'the roof of world'. This assignment focuses on
the growth and development of Tibet heritage city. Further, types of ownership which is having
the management rights of these sites has to be discussed.
TASK 1
1.1 Evaluation of growth and development of heritage industry
Heritage refers to the events and process which have a special meaning in the memory of
group. It helps in focusing or highlighting the importance of enhancing or preserving the culture
of rich heritage is Tibet. This country helps in symbolizing the inheritance of heritage and
culture. The country having the high geographical area which assist in taking the high altitude
that are admired to be visited Tibet by tourist which are coming from the different places from
all over the world to enjoy the accessibility of the different areas of the region with the proper

support of the efficiency of the transportation system. The citizens of the country have to develop
the areas as the importance of the development of the heritage in the country can be analyzed or
assessed by the attraction of the tourist in the large number so that they can explore the beauty of
the country. They have to do the more collection of the various human constructed by which they
can built the heritage within the environment of the unique heritage of the country which
includes the overall development of the nation so that they can increase the income which can be
earned from the sector of travel and tourism. The regulatory bodies of the country have to design
or prepare the appropriate the list of plans which succor in promoting the heritage area as well as
the cultural development of the region. Natural heritage attracts the tourist on account of the
beautiful location which includes beautiful location, forest, national park, wildlife and many
more. Natural heritage is the symbol of beauty of the nature. The person or citizens of Tibet
helps in exploring the art so that they can construct the historical buildings which is unique
which includes museums, artifacts, sculpture and monuments. Projects such as Intercontinental
Hotel groups helps in planning by which they can establish Resort Lhasa Paradise with having
approx 1200 rooms it is the feature by which they can attract the tourist. The cultural heritage of
the world which influenced the person so that they cannot exploit the natural resources. It has
been observed by the regulatory body of China to do the renovation of Barkhor district situated
in Lhasa-capital of Tibet. The role of heritage culture is that they assist in shaping the country.
Tibetan culture has been follow the beliefs so that they can emerged from Buddhism. Married
women in Tibet wear unique dress which is designed and by that they can symbolize that women
is married. The food which they are eating that is enriched with the elements that is fat and
protein by which they enable the people so that they can survive in climatic condition. The
person who are making the Tibetan food they are using the barley which is a major cultivated
crop. Tibet is augment with distinction from cultural and natural heritage which symbolize the
uniqueness of region among those of different surrounding region.
1.2 Potential conflicts
It is very necessary for Tibet that they have to conserve the heritage and cultural site for
future. They have to do the proper development of places by which many tourist attract as these
are the assets of the country (Cano, Lafuente and Bastidas, 2010). Along with this ministry
bodies have to conserve these sites. But sometimes conflict occur in the conservation process
which includes :-

Access versus erosion – Tourist attract from those destination which have easy access. Along
with this regulatory bodies have to provide the best transportation services to their tourist and at
that point conflict occur that most of the places situated on the mountains and not easy to reach
there. The government have to make a proper way by providing shades and rest areas and this is
a issues which denotes access versus erosion.
Impact of visitors on tourist places and their environment – Tourist wants all facilities so that
tourist can reach their destination. Along with this they want proper stay and accommodation in
near by places of tourism. They want proper facilities by which they dissatisfied. Tibet is the
reason by which all the arrangements for visitors done by the government of China and by that
conflict occur if they are not providing proper facilities to tourist (Casali, 2006).
Presentation of heritage and culture to visitors – Packing is a part of presentation so this must
be done in the perfect manner. They have to make the appropriate changes in the areas of
tourism. They can renovate the places but do not change the originality of the places so they have
to provide the best impression among tourist.
Planning and land use – The members of government have to make the proper plans to repair
or renovate the monument as they are having a spiritual significance in Tourist and Tibetan also.
So, this can create the conflict for the regulatory bodies to do the proper changes without
changing the design of historical places (Chelazzi and et. al., 2013).
Brown field sites versus green field sites – The government of China have to make or provide
the some new accommodations or facilities to visitors and for that they have to make the new
buildings in the traditional style and that should be attractive. It is not a easy task for the
governments because Tibet is situated on the hilly areas and that place having rivers, mountains.
The members have to take decisions by experts to use land in Lhasa.
Capital cost and generation of profit or revenue – In this, government have to make the
appropriate budgets so that they can do proper investments. The management staff have to make
the expenses for the capital investments so that they can generate the fair price of tickets. Local
bodies and government of China may have their interest to generate the revenue and this cause a
conflict. They have to make proper investment so that they can create the high revenue and have
to make the prices which is suitable for tourist (Chirikure and Pwiti, 2008).

TASK 2
2.1 Purpose of heritage and cultural attractions
Museums and academics play a important role in influencing the various tourist so that
they confront them with the beauty of the different cultural heritage of the different region which
is having the unique identity which is related to the cultural belief and assumptions. This section
is focused on promoting the travel and tourism sector British Museum and Royal Academy of
Arts (Choi and et. al., 2010). Along with this it highlights the role of constructed historical
monuments and buildings. They have to do research work, entertainment and educational
purpose so that they can carry out the recreational activities which are :-
Research work should be done by students or scientists – The museum has provided the facility
to do the research so that they can carry out the research facility by which they can explore the
different parts of the world. They have to use the appropriate traditional tools and methods which
can be adopted during ancient civilization so that they can draw conclusion by which they can
modify the elements and attain the benefits.
Provide entertainment to children and families – British Museum has been providing the
entertainment to children and family which helps in confronting before different civilization.
Consumers, customs and traditional values are adopted by the members so that they can present
the proper model. By the cultural heritage children improve the knowledge (Daniele, Taglieri
and Quaresima, 2008). Family can visit the museum as a holiday trip by which they can
influence travel to all over globe so that they can enjoy the different custom and climate
condition.
Museum visited by media – It helps in increasing the trust among the person with the
consideration to the national and international media. Whatever media presents the issues news
or information in front of the public the people easily trust on them. Media explore the
importance of acknowledging the facts and figures by which they symbolize the ancient cultural
aspects.
Royal academy of art is that institution by which they can promote the professionalism by
which they can consider the interest of designer and artist from the different areas over the whole
world. This institution helps in providing the background which is related to universe to the
numerous artists by which they can put their intelligence and expertise in the different fields of
the art and architecture (Fotakis and et. al., 2006). This academy helps in providing the

encouragement or motivation among the artist so that they can improve their skills. It has been
observed that many person who are visiting the museum they are having the distinct purpose
which includes the recreational activity so that they can do the proper research activity. They
have to introduce the different civilization so that they can do the proper promotion of the travel
and tourism industry.
TASK 3
3.1 Impact of different types of ownership
To do the management of the different culture and heritage site is a complex task which
involves the consideration that they can retain the same information to deliver the message of the
ancient civilization of numerous culture. The company members have to control and preserve the
features which is unique (Huh, Uysal and McCleary, 2006). Along with this they are using the
appropriate structure so that they have to follow the management style which includes :-
Private ownership – This ownership is used by the regulatory bodies which helps in control by
which individual company undertake the administration of museums, monuments and historical
buildings. The main motive of the private ownership is that they have to attain the maximum
profit by innovating, modify or renovate the structure. In this government is not managing the
structure. Individual company establish the hotels and resorts which is just looking like a
monuments which represents the cultural heritage of the region and by that they can attract the
more tourist and by that they can make a holiday trip as a memorable one. This type of
management or ownership has eroded by the exploitation of the ancient civilization (Kalay, Kvan
and Affleck, 2007).
Public ownership – This ownership is adopted by the ministry bodies so that they can attain the
public interest. Monuments represents the cultural background of the different geographical
areas. It helps in attaining the importance towards the cultural diversity and also the uniqueness
of heritage so that government do the proper control over the structures to ensure the exploitation
(Kolar and Zabkar, 2010). These monuments helps in symbolizing the historical wealth of the
country so that they can do the appropriate management so that they can ensure the existence.
Regulatory bodies take the ownership of those projects which require renovation.
Mix ownership – This type of management includes the involvement of government as well as
private ownership. Mix ownership involve the maximum protection of the public interest as well
as the technique of private ownership. Visitors are required to pay the minimum charges to visit

the places as this is the source of income for owners. It helps in promoting the importance of
culture which denominate the culture of the country. Further, mix ownership involve the little
intervention of government (Kalay, 2008).
Every ownership style having the specific advantage and disadvantage. They have to
select the particular ownership so that they can analyze the appropriateness. Along with this they
have to determine the purpose which assist in managing the structure of historical culture. The
contribution of this style helps in promoting and enhancing the inherited value so that they can
display the importance of the existence of cultural heritage.
3.2 Roles and responsibilities of organizations
Woodland Trust is the entity which helps in doing the changes in heritage. Along with
this it assist in renovating the monuments in UK. Old monuments tells the growth of civilization
and also the development of the human. Company having their own roles and responsibility
which include :-
Funding – The company members have to make their own funds as they are having many
responsibilities which they have to fulfill. They need more funds which helps in future to raise
the funds. Along with this they have to enlarge the area so that they can use the proper structure
of the company (Loulanski, 2006). Further, they have to make their appropriate accounts so that
they can manage their funds. The company members have to analyze the needs and have to set
the priorities by which they can arise the funds.
New merchandising – The staff members of Woodland trust have to use the new merchandising
for the marketing of the each and every monuments so that many consumers attract. Along with
this they can use the internet also (Pavlidis and et. al., 2007). They have to do the publicity of the
places by the internet or the social networking sites. They have to set the picture and also provide
the brief detail of the monument.
Advisory and legislative – The entity is a charitable trust which assist in doing the work
according to the legislation of UK. Regulatory bodies have to set the legislation and advisory for
their work (O'Faircheallaigh, 2008). They have to make some rules and guidelines so that they
can maintain the trust in the groups which are working for protecting the monuments.
Changes in attraction and income generation – The staff members of Woodland trust have to
adopt the changes so that tourist attract. Along with this they have to make the changes in the
historical places. They have to provide the rest area and shades so that they can not face any

problem. Further, they can charge fair price from the visitors and use this money for maintenance
for future.
New technology – They have to use the new technology and that is very important for the
various industrial segment to align with the same. They have to do the proper research by using
the various technique and appropriate procedure which assist in maintaining the cultural heritage.
The task of renovation of the monuments is tough and it requires tat company members have to
adopt the smart technique which imply the minimum investment of funds (Petrelli and et. al.,
2013).
TASK 4
4.1 Evaluate methods and media used for interpretation
Marketing is the important part for any type of industry. Along with this every company
have to make the qualitative products which improves productivity. By using the visitors point,
British Museum and Royal Academy of Arts in London which is having history, art and culture
(Ruijgrok, 2006). Further, they have to interpret the experience of visitors within the
advertisement board and also have to take the feedback which is recorded in feedback diary.
Interpretation of the methods and media -
Importance of the interpretation to visitors – It is the essential part that they have to interpret
the British Museum to their visitors (Sansoni, Trebeschi and Docchio, 2009). Along with this
they have to provide the special guide to them so that they can understand every thing and by
that they can do the proper development.
Relevance of approach to interpretation – Administration have to use the thematic approach
so that they can do proper interpretation. They have to elaborate the models and also do the
development of human. It is the helping theory which impact the visitors so that they can learn
about the museum (Schreiber and et. al., 2008).
Media for Interpretation – The higher authorities of British Museum and Royal Academy of
arts so that they can use the best medium by that they can do the appropriate interpretation which
is related to the views of the models and arts (Stone and Bajjaly, 2008). Some media which help
in interpretation which includes :-
Audio visual – By this they can provide the guidance befog the group enter in the British
museum. Along with this they can affix a screen which describe model or art briefly.

Meeting audio needs – By this they can provide the appropriate training to the tourist so
that they can meet the audience needs (Yastikli, 2007).
Published material – They can use the published material which helps in providing the
guidance. Various mediums include magazine and user guide. By this they can provide the
proper structure about the art and culture and also about the museums. Along with this they have
to publish the different languages which helps tourist (Tengberg and et. al., 2012).
For effective interpretation establishing audience needs should be important – Different
tourist places having different management and administration of the places have to provide the
proper detail of the structure so that the visitors know about the places (Timothy and Nyaupane,
2009).
Language level – By the tourist or the visitors, management can take the interpretation so that
they can improve or develop the places by taking the feedback from the tourist (Timothy, 2011).
Combination of interpretative media to achieve appropriate effects – Management have to
make the proper and appropriate combination of the medium of interpretation which includes
language of visitor, provide brochure and also guidelines to visitor. So, by using the media they
can make a impact on visitors (Tzortzakis, Anglos and Gray, 2006).
CONCLUSION
From the above carried out analysis it has been observed that employees have to maintain
the elements of culture and heritage as this is taken as priority by every nation. Every country
members have to put more and more efforts so that they can promote the travel and tourism
sector which helps in attracting or getting attention of the tourist. The company members have to
make the possible income so that they can explore the country by using the proper natural
resources. Travel and tourism sector helps in promoting the hospitality industry as well as
transportation sector. The citizens of Tibet have to do overall development so that they can boost
up the increment in the Gross Domestic Product of the nation.
