Key historical developments in travel and tourism industry
Form 1990 major development took place which largely affect this
industry and its various operations. At present every travel and tour
organisation use new and updated technology in order to offer
effective services to visitors. Further, various improvements in
transportation has taken place which has change the industry a lot. In
addition to this, concept of globalisation encourage government to
implement liberalisation related with visa and passport facility.
Development and growth
Today every country encourages its tourism in order to enhance the
number of visitors as this bring foreign exchange in country and
contribute a lot in economic development of a nation. Government also
play a big role in this and to increase effectiveness it has form a
partnership with various private enterprises
Before 1945: In this time period, individuals lived in agricultural
societies and then started move on form the local area to the rural one.
In that period of time, industry was travel and tourism was
inconsistent. At that time, there was not any kind of technology to
offer services to visitors and travellers. Due to lack of transportation
and other facilities growth of this sector was limited. But at the end of
this period a many tour firms started offering tour packages.
1945-1979: At this time period, development of travel and tourism
sector took place. Various facilities such as transportation and
accommodation developed which helped in increase the number of
visitors. Tour operators of United Kingdom started some variation in
tour packages in order to attract more number of visitors. Government
also started do investments in this sector in order to earn foreign
exchange.
1980 to present: This as the time period in which large number of
airlines firms started offer various services and facilities to visitors
such as insurance, medical service and many more.
. Government of UK is also searching new ways in
order to increase numbers of travellers.
Attractive: In United Kingdom different number of
sites are there which are very attractive and this helps
in attract and influence large number of visitors to
visit. Number of palaces, forts and rivers are there in
UK.
Natural: Different type of landscapes, parks and
coastline are there UK which help in attract large
number of visitors. In addition to this, black rat and
cat also increase tourism of country.
Contracted heritage environment: In UK, there are
some places such as parliament and Queen's palace
which have their own value and history. All this help
in attract more number of travellers as they like to
know about what happened in the past.
Cultural heritage: In Australia, there are approx. 25
cultural sites are there which attract more number of
visitors every year. Different authorities observe and
manager these sites to maintain the number of
travellers.
As per the National trust historic preservation cultural tourism refers
to that experience and value that an individual gain after visit a
specific place or destination. Huge number of development has taken
place in this sector which is stated below under following headings:
