The significant reason is to understand the reasons for
AOD misuse in rural areas
To identify the population involved in AOD misuse
To determine effective intervention strategies to reduce or
eliminate AOD use
To understand the effectiveness of such intervention
strategies
To get relevant information regarding AOD abuse and
interventions

Comparing findings with practice
As per the findings, 47% of the Australian agencies use different strategies to
minimize AOD misuse (Hughes, Sheehan and Evans, 2018)
The findings suggest that 63% of the young adults in Australian rural areas
are exposed to AOD use
It is found that the agency must use different intervention strategies to
minimize AOD related crimes
As compared to the findings Australian agency must use Emotional Regulation
to intervention to reduce or alleviate AOD misuse
It will help in promoting self-awareness and understanding the addictive
behaviour of the individuals
