This project involves designing a home automation system for elderly and disabled people with lower expenses and wireless system. The objectives include designing a prototype, controlling home appliances with voice and switch mode, streaming real-time video, and utilizing secured protocols. The project utilized six significant technology exposures, including Google’s android open-source technologies, Wi-Fi technology, transistor as the switch, interfacing the relays with DC or AC power sources, embedded programming, and interfacing wireless adapters to Raspberry Pi. The project faced issues with analysing data and activating GPIO pins, selecting lower API version, and selecting relays of higher volt and ampere. The solutions included analysing data effectively, changing PCB, using lower API version, and using relays of 6V and 3A. The project was helpful in learning to design the prototype of home automation system.
