INTRODUCTION
Policy for this report is the homeless reduction act of 2017. This act was introduced on
30 April 2019 and introduces new legal duties on local authorities so that everyone who is
homeless or at risk becoming a homeless individual will be gaining access ability to appropriate
support despite their status as long as they require assistance (Abdelmonem, 2020). The main
aim of the homeless reduction act is to prevent the high rate of homelessness in England. The
intention of this policy is to ensure that the councils able to interfere in a timely manner to
prevent individuals from becoming homeless in the first place. This is because once an
individual’s enters the state of homelessness it becomes quite difficult to emerge from poverty
and the state of the individual along with their family is to be caught in poverty for years.
The value on which the policy is based includes fairness dignity and collectivism. The
ideology collectivism is one of the main influences of this policy because it aims to strengthen
support of the welfare system and provides all residents of the UK truly affordable housing. The
housing section act is based on the ideas of dignity and fairness in which each individual has the
right to live in hygienic environment and be able to afford proper housing. In addition to this
another important aspect of this policy is the concept of dignity. This is because homelessness is
directly related to dignity of an individual in the society. The implementation of this act focuses
on maintaining dignity of all residents of the UK but creating a system which helps each
individual gain proper housing and do not live under the constant threat of becoming
homeless. Reality realism is another ideology which heavily influences and shapes this
policy because creating a welfare system which prioritizes housing for all will it more equality
between the individuals of society and lower the divide between the rich and poor.
The primary welfare ideology which influences the policy of homeless reduction act is
welfare state. This is a type of government which focuses on protecting and promoting the
economic and social wellbeing of its citizen. The Housing Act also focuses on doing the same
by improving the housing system and providing every individual opportunity to gain proper
housing and eliminate forces which bring homelessness in UK (Anderson, 2019). Primary
welfare principles to which this policy is related are intention to improve economic social

The aim of the selected charity organization shelter is to promote campaigns which seek
to end homelessness issues in UK and provide advice and advocacy to individuals who are on the
brink of being homeless. The company also focuses on tackling legislative issues related to
homelessness and lobbying for creation of laws which support ending homelessness in the
country. The company supports the cause of ending homelessness in UK through various
initiatives and strategies. on a local level the firm provides advice and supports in person to
individuals who are facing issues related to homelessness. The given advice is personalized as it
considers the situations faced by each individual so that they are able to find the best solutions to
get rid of homelessness.

to homeless individuals in finding new homes leads to rough sleeping. Many of the individuals
were in such situations include families with children and loss of respect by others because of

gain employment for dignity in a society which leads to further downward spiral of such
individuals into poverty.

document
The main argument of the document is to take action against homelessness by
providing statements of individuals who have faced abuse and other problems during rough
sleeping. It is important to introduce strong policies regarding this issue so as homelessness can
be completely eradicated from the UK society (Madoc-Jones and et. al., 2018). The argument
for this is that it will provide real security every individual in UK and also help create a morality
in society.

From the above report it is concluded that homelessness is a serious issue in the UK. The
main legislative policy related to homelessness is the homelessness reduction act which focuses
on preventing rough sleeping and taking action to reduce the state of homelessness in UK.
Different charitable organizations have taken action 2 face the issue of homelessness and
promote policies which bring long jump change related to lives of individuals facing
homelessness in UK. the campaigns and Charity Policy Research conducted by charity
enterprises in relation to homelessness and rough sleeping plays an important role in introducing
appropriate political and social change with regards to the rise of homelessness in the country.
Different welfare ideologies values and principles shape such policies and charitable
organizations. The main motive is welfare for all and creation of an egalitarian society in which
every individual gains the opportunity for developing their own home. The main social
problems related to the issue of homelessness are eviction and loss of homes. These social issues
are related to other social problems such as loss of close family member or substance abuse
issues. The loss of home leads to lifelong poverty of individuals as finding a new home is filled
with challenges for vulnerable communities. It is important to take action against this issue in
order to provide every individual in UK a safe and proper housing.
