case scenario of Hilton Worldwide which is a global hospitality organization that is based in
United States (Lucas, 2004). Hilton includes 4,112 hotels in 91 countries and expanding its
hospitality and tourism business more in the global markets. This report will showcase the
strategic mechanical phenomenon that is followed by Hilton and competencies which are
developed with time to be successful in international markets with the application of relevant
models to assess the external and competitive analysis to identify the drivers of change and
competency gaps along with the core capabilities and culture of firm by developing the relevant
strategic models. Hospitality and tourism industry is beneficial in the economic growth of the
country. Even in some scenario, hospitality also increase the opportunities for providing
employment to people. The hospitality industry can be divided into two categories. First is clubs,
restaurant, bars, and catering and second is food outlets, hospitals, airlines etc. However, tourism
industry and hospitality industry are the important part for the growth of country's economy
(Som and Al-Kassem, 2013).

analysis will help in assessing the level of opportunities and threats that are available for

through PESTLE analysis. This tool includes various factors that have a huge impact on
businesses. These internal and external factors are as follows:
 Political factors: Political factors include the current political situations of the country.
These political factors also depict the global political conditions and its effects on
business. Thereby, Hilton hotel should analyse all the government policies, taxes, tariffs,
stability of government and rules and regulations for international business entries of the
global country in which the firm is expanding its hospitality and tourism business (Yu,
2012). It is very important for the cited organization to develop the strategies for global
markets after assessing the political factors of country. Economic factors: The economic factors of country consist of the determinants of
economy of country or state. As per the economic factors of country, Hilton hotel should
analyse the inflation rate, interest rate, disposable income of buyers, credit accessibility,

environmental analysis techniques such as PESTEL and Porters five forces model. Here, it is
with the help of given technique only I will be able to carry out my efforts in terms of gathering
the thorough information about the company and its activities. Here, with an aim to assess the
given tool I have carried out the thorough research. Thus, with respect to both academic and
professional development context, I have found out significant improvement in my research
related skill. This is because, here with an aim to assess the impact of different PESTEL factors
upon the work of selected hospitality company which is named as hotel Hilton I have taken help
from the variety of sources such as journals, books and online articles etc. Here, it is with the
help of given sources only I have improved my understanding regarding the activities which is
being occur in the external environment of the company in an effectual way. In addition to this, I
do have some knowledge about the PESTEL factors. But, I am totally unaware about the use of

another technique such as porters five forces analysis. However, while doing the given research I
have improved my understanding regarding the same.
Now, the knowledge which I have gained about the specific tool can be used by me for
the purpose to analyze the competitive environment of the firm where I will work in the future.

the firm where I am going to work in the future. In addition to this, in the second task of the
assignment I have learned the way which any firm can use in order to break itself from the
current industry. In the given task I have explored the different steps. Here, at the first stage I
have carry out the situation analysis in which I have analyzed the situation which is prevailing in
the external environment of hotel Hilton. Here, with the help of given type of activity only I have
gathered the information about the area where hotel Hilton can expand. In the given stage, I have
improved or learned the analytic skill.
Earlier I found myself in the difficulty situation when I will have to make the decision of
selecting one specific alternative among two or three options. However, after doing the given
assignment I have found out significant improvement in my analytic skill. This is because, here
in the situation analysis phase also I have to make the selection of one specific option where
hotel Hilton can expand. Thus, in order to perform the same I have first analyzed the different
available alternative and thus finally make the selection of one. Thus, now I believe that I am
very much effective in analytic skill.
The skill which I have learned will help in my professional career. This is because, I can

information about the hotel Hilton. Earlier, I have some knowledge about the hotel Hilton that it
is the luxury five star hotel which operates its function in UK and many other countries.
However, while doing this assignment I have learned about the type of services which is being
given by the selected hotel. In addition to this, I have also improved my knowledge and
understanding regarding the vision and mission of the company. Here, the information which I
have gained can be used by me with an aim suggest an appropriate strategy to the company that
are associated with the hospitality field. Furthermore, I have also found out improvement in my
knowledge with respect to the type of tactics which is being used by the hospitality and tourism
company. The information that I have gained through this assignment can be used by me with an
aim to suggest an appropriate tactic to the other firm where I am going to work in the future.
Thus, the whole journey of preparing the given project is proved as beneficial in both academic

CONCLUSION
Strategic management is a continues process of planning, monitoring and analysing the
internal and external factors which is essential for organization to achieve its goals and
objectives. This report outlines the hospitality and tourism strategies in global markets with the
various factors that helps to develop the strategies to expand the businesses in international
markets. In today's technological advance world, hospitality and tourism industries are growing
very fast. Hospitality and tourism industry have huge contribution in economy of the countries as
well. Because tourism and travel attracts the people of diverse countries in different geographical
areas. Therefore, hospitality industries are exploring more opportunities in international markets
and these industries are expecting growth in changing multi cultured environment as well.
Hospitality industries not only deals with local customers but also provide the effective service in
international markets. The hospitality industries includes the sub sectors such as, hotels and
restaurant which largely contributes in the economic growth of the country. The conditions of
tourism industry and hospitality are co-related with each other and also know is one industry.
However, both tourism and hospitality industries are seen as two different segments. Tourism
can be defined as travelling at multiple locations outside the usual environment for the purpose
of pleasure. On the other hand hospitality provides accommodation, meals, drinks and venues to
people who are outside from home. This report depicts the various strategies of hospitality and
tourism industry that is developed by analysing all the environmental factors and competitive
analysis of the international markets. Moreover, this report also covers the possible trajectories
that a firm can follow in order to break away from current industry and to open up opportunities
in new market along with the discussion of innovation and creativity for strategic performance of
the organization in international markets.
