INTRODUCTION Hospitality is the industry in which the guests are welcomed and the staff takes care of there well-being. Hospitality involves bars, pub, restaurants, hotels and many more. Hospitality can be said as the sector that welcomes the visitors, guests and take care of them like a home when they are away from home. This presentation is going to show the shortage of staff in the current situation of hospitality industry and it will tell you that why I have chosen hospitality as my career option. Hospitality industries include hotel that provide you a stay with the homely feeling.
SHORTAGE OF STAFF In the last year, there is a lot of things changed in our surrounding and the development in the hospitality sector is also the big change in the country, there are many new technology came and have made so many creative innovations in the hotels but the work of human is still the work of human, there are some works that can never be done by technology or robotics. In the current world, the hospitality sector is facing huge shortage of staff as according to a report of TOI 6 out of 1 employees are leaving there job in hospitality sector There can be many factors that are causing the shortage of staff, it can be some personal issue or something else Not everyone have the same issues but during the time of analyzation, there are some issues that can be said as common issues that are creating shortage of staff, these issues are as follows:-

THESE ARE SOME OF THE COMMON ISSUES Lack of skilled employee s Covid - 19 Personal & official issues Lack of skilled employees Hotels in now a days requires the employees who have done the course of hotel management but the students are not aware of the needs of students of hotel management. In the current world, the students have no focus on the hospitality sector as it is limited to an extent and gives less ROI, causing less number of hotel management graduates. Even if the hotel get some graduates of hotel management they still search for someone who is more productive then the current employee, because of which it cause the lack of job security, leading the employees to leave the job. To increase the skilled employees, hotels must have to collaborate and should promote the HM course by giving better career opportunity to the student and employees.
Covid-19 The second issue that is causing the shortage of staff is covif-19, all the people’s in the world are witness that how disastrous the corona virus pandemic was and how much does it have caused to society. Not only hospitality but every sector of economy had some effects because of this pandemic, but there is one thing common in that the effect this pandemic has shown to every sector is negative. Because of the fear of bad health condition and covid-19 employees have left their job and went to their home place with the family to live Another major reason is that due to lack of isolation facilities are given by government people’s choose themselves to get isolated in a hotel room for some days which has set the mindset of employees working in hotel as life threatening Even the government have also used some of the hotel as the place to isolate due to which many employees have left their job.
Personal & official issues There are some personal and official issues of the employees that has cause them to leave the job. These are the factor that cannot be focused on but harm or may make the employee less- interested of their job. These issues can put pressure on the employees because other employees have left the job leading to high work on the present employees and this may cause them to leave the job. If the employee founds the good earning opportunity in another hotel then that employee can go there and this may cause shortage of staff. Employee getting bored of the work that the employee is doing and wanting to change it’s working sector may cause disturbance to firm resulting in the staff shortage

WHY I HAVE CHOSEN HOSPITALITY AS MY CAREER From the childhood till now, I had a hobby of cooking food everyday I used to cook food and serve it my family Following this routine everyday, one day I had a thought to pursue the hotel management course, but I don’t have any information about that. So I decided to gather information regarding the hotel management course. When I gathered the information, I got to know that only my hobby is not the reason why I have to choose this as career There are many more information that has attracted me to join the hospitality as my career, these information include some points as follows:-
Unlimited career option I got to know that the hospitality sector have a wide range of jobs in many unique skills and myself as an head chief can have the employment opportunities in multiple sectors of hospitalityindustrylike:-Hotel, Restaurant, Bar, café, coffee houses, juice bar etc. New experience everyday While studying in hospitality sector I can have many new experience everyday, the college is also the practical one which is the best factor of this sector that I like the most. The information I have seen regarding this sector have make me seen that this industry involves traveling and fun with work and money this is something good about the hospitality sector which allows the employee to travel and too Make money together
CONCLUSION This presentation have discussed about the hospitality sector and the staff shortage that is occurring in this sector. Which has mainly three reasons that are lack of skilled employees, covid-19, personal or official issues also this presentation have shown that why I have chosen hospitality as my career option to succeed in the future using my hobby
