Introduction-
Leadership carries that ability of a person, individual or a group, which mainly influence
and guide the followers and the other members of the organization. In other words, leadership in
business helps them in maintaining the objectives so that they take the fast and the decisive
actions when needed (Leon, & Oleynick, 2015). Moreover, the work of leader is to outperform
when facing competition and inspire others to perform at the highest level so that it leads to the
enhancement an individual as well as helps in generating the organizational success (DuBrin,
2015).
Moreover, leadership in hospitality gives direction to the workers as well as organization
so that fulfillment of the objectives can be done. They have potential to influence others workers,
develop future visions and helps in motivating the organizational members to that both they can
achieve the set goals and visions by the organization (Antonakis, & Day, 2017).
Leader you admire and has been effective-
Easy jet one of the famous British airline which majorly operates in domestic and
international schedules services. Hence, it is seen there is a rapid expansion since the company
started growing through the various combinations of acquisitions and base openings mainly
fuelled by the consumer demand for the low cost travelling. McCall, the CEO of the easy jet is
one of the inspiring women who inspire everyone with her leadership quality.
By her innovative building techniques, strong commitment towards the working of the
organization makes her a good leader with which many employees gets inspire and work more
dedicatedly. She makes the smart use of external suppliers and the partners to deliver an
important component of the services to the ultimate customers (Former, & Albright, 2015).
She knows that leadership is that aspect which mainly contributes in the success and the
failure of the easy jet, as there can be the relationships of the leadership style, motivation, and
employee performance. For this aspect, McCall applies the transformation style of leadership in
which transformational qualities helps in improvement in performance beyond the set
expectations while operating along with the measures of carrying out the travel effectiveness.

Thus, by her leadership qualities, it is proven that for any organization, leadership and culture
has an important effect not only for the good performance but also to handle grievances or vital
issues or the situations, which damage the performance of the organization (Baldwin, 2015).
Furthermore, it was also seen that McCall is one of the finest leaders among all as she is
one of the customers focused leader with the huge amount of courage. As this shows that easy jet
follows the customers centric approach not only on the basis to attract more of customers but
also listen to them, their issues, their problems while travelling, providing them the various
services so that the company could meet the expectation of the customers. Not only this, to see
all such things are happening or not McCall visits and travel in easy jet, talk to their customers
directly that what are they linking and not liking in the services. Therefore, this all highlights that
making or keeping a direct contact with customers on the regular basis is the finest approach by a
leader, which makes him/her the greatest leader among all. Other than this, accumulating
expertise in customers’ centricity in this McCall believes in learning from the best and sharing
best practices and believes in facilitating the true empowerment (Walker, & Aritz, 2015).
Thus, above all as a leader she also cross the boundaries to generate the enterprise wide
results and works really harder to attain the set objectives by the organization, measuring the
success differently. She also keeps focusing on incremental progress and quick wins but with the
big picture in her mind. Lastly, the success of the easy jet is in her hand only because she
communicates with the ultimate customers and also works and lives by the customers’ centric
values by directly contacting to the staff members for knowing about the issues or directly with
the customers. So, that on time action can be taken and further that issue should be converted
into the satisfaction of the customers (Walker, & Aritz, 2015).
Leadership styles, behavior and approaches
Transformation style of leadership is that in which leaders encourages, inspires and also
motivate employees to think and work in an innovative way and helps them in changing,
growing and shaping the future success of the organization. The characteristics which
transformational leaders carries within oneself is inspiration which is given to the employees to
perform better, it also leads to mobilization, because leadership helps in mobilizing people into
groups which makes the work easier. Other than this, a leader in this case feels energetic,

enthusiastic and passionate. Hence, the group, which follows transformational leaders, had the
higher level of performance and satisfaction than the group lead by the other or under other
leadership style.
The above discussion in respect of transformational leader suggest that having a strong,
compassionate, and the positive vision of the future not only leads the success in organization
aspect but also makes the person prepare to be future leader. Thus, being genuine, passionate,
supportive and trustworthy helps the people to get motivate the followers to achieve the set target
(Jaiswal, & Dhar, 2015).
Why leadership style makes a leader effective
A transformational leader is so effective for the leaders because they guide the followers
through inspiration and motivation. In this, they create vision for their followers and guide the
change through inspiration and motivation. They are taken as the excellent role models and help
in emulate many actions. They also help in inspiring and activating the self-efficacy, as it helps
the followers to think beyond the expectation (Liang, et al, 2017). Other than this, this kind of
leadership style relies on charisma. Therefore, it states that transformational leaders drive their
legitimacy through their behavior and character rather than following the formal position, rules
or the traditions. Therefore, all such factors help in developing the individuals’ talent, which
leads to growth of individual as well as organization (Jaiswal, & Dhar, 2015).
Moreover, we talk about the transformational leader it mainly highlights about the
individualized considerations, inspirational motivation, idealized influence and intellectual
stimulation. In which they highlights that there is at extent to which the follower needs mentor or
leader, which will support them in proper development of the key skills and the behavior
(Harrison, 2018). Hence, it leads the follower to aspire and further develop and highlights the
intrinsic motivation towards work. In terms of idealized influence, this factor displays that
leaders with the high standards of moral and ethical conduct helps the leaders to learn and
develops a sense of vision and mission. Lastly, intellectual stimulation is also one of the traits of
the leader which supports and collaborates with the followers by trying new approaches and
developing the innovate techniques and ways of dealing with the problems of the organizations.
