RESEARCH REFLECTION REPORT(should contain the details given below)Please type your responses in the spaces below:Research Methods & ProcessesHow and why have you chosen/decidedon the research methods and processeswhich you are using/have used for thedevelopment of your Major Project? How would you describe these to: 1) a reader of your Major Project and/or 2) a future employer (max. 550 words)In order to analyse the feasibility and scope ofhousehold solar panels in Saudi Arabia I undertooka well structured research study which effectivelyhelped me in attaining a well defined idea aboutdifferent aspects of the analysis. I appliedappropriate research tools and techniques to developa clear picture of the overall analysis. This helpedme in understating the research issue in a clearmanner. Consumers are focusing upon morerenewable energy in comparison of using fossil fuelswhich is non-renewable sources. I adopted secondary data collection method tocollect data and information for undertaking thestudy. This was appropriate for me as my businessplan focused on analysing the scope of solar paneldemand in Saudi Arabia. This helped me incollecting some of the crucial information regardingand utility cost of the country, solar panel usage, efficiency in alternate usage for electricity etc. waseffectively analysed and attained for the study. Ireferred to different sources of information to collectand represent the data in an authentic and reliableform. Journals, books, internet, newspaper, pastresearch information etc. were used to collect theauthentic information. In addition to this, periodicreports of market for solar panels for domestichouseholds energy supply were also used to attainthe valid information. 2

It was an exploratory research which demanded adetailed analysis of different factors which wasadopted for the study. Different aspects of researchmodels and growth aspects of the business wereanalysed and studied through application of modelsin the study. I evaluated that the demand for solarpanel is widely rising in the economy. I structuredmy over all study in a well defined manner anddetermined the tools and models which will help mein determining the proper plan for the start-upventure. This approach helped me in understandingthe significance of theoretical tools in practicalbusiness scenario. This was however a challengingaspect of the research as well because analysing thetools for every aspect in advance demanded a lot ofbrainstorming. Analysis of research approach was a crucial task forthe study. I adopted both qualitative as well asquantitative approach in the study to attain theresearch objectives. It helped in attaining clear andappropriate information for the research. Thequantitative data was attained in the form offinancial information which was assumed andeffectively analysed to developed a clear idea aboutthe subject. However qualitative data played asignificant role in the analysis. It helped me inassessing the theoretical and academic informationefficiently to develop an in-depth understandingabout every aspect of the start-up business. Initiallyit was difficult for me to apply theories in businessplanning however with a little effort the process3

helped me in overcoming my weakness and createda significant picture about how to analyse thesuccess aspects of the study through applying themodels. In addition to this it was evaluated that datacompilation and analysis was one of the mostcrucial aspect of the study as it delivered a clear ideaabout the data to be undertaken. n the current studyof creating an effective market for solar panel fordomestic households within Saudi Arabia, secondary data collection method was undertaken. This helped me in attaining vast and variedinformation. I critically examined every informationfor the research and undertook the informationwhich was directly significant and important for mystudy. It helped me in creating a clear and effectiveanalysis of the information essential to complete mystudy plan. Literature & sources1) What are the most importanttheories/literature sources /evidencesources which you are using to justifyyour research and your Major Project?2) Why are these sources important andfundamental to your work? (max. 550 words)My business plan focused on evaluating the solarpanel usage for domestic household energy supplyto reduce utility cost in Saudi Arabia. The statedtopic was theoretically known to me however thedetailed information about the same was notavailable with me. The business concept chapterwas undertaken to critically analyse the businessconcept in an effective manner and develop a clearunderstanding about theories and evidencesassociated with the same. This section enhanced myknowledge and understanding clearly about thetopic. Initially analysed the business concept indetail. I evaluated that how a solar panel operates4
