profitability to the organization. Business operations define as the functions and activities which are
done on the daily basis for generating profit and achieve the organization goals. In order to operate
the business, various internal and external factors are needed to focus for analyzing the organization’s
market position and planning of various strategies. Tesco is taken as the base company. Tesco is a
multinational groceries and merchandise retailer which is headquartered in UK. It is considered as the
third largest retailer in the world which is specialized in selling of various products such as clothing,
electronics, furniture and so on. This company was found by Jack Cohen in 1919.

The Business Environment
Business environment includes all the internal and external factors that control the productivity
and performance of business. It helps in identifying growth, profitability and longevity of the business.
Internal business environments include factors that exist inside an organization such as human resource,
vision, mission and so on whereas external business environment are considered as outside factors which
create impacts on the business operations such as macro and micro. Business environment helps in
identifying the opportunities and threat of an organization and provide a better strategies for it. Along
with this, it also helps in coping with the rapid changes in the market place and also improves the
performance of the organization.

Types of organizations
Public sector: The businesses are owned and run of the
behalf of government or the one who funded and report it to
the government.
Private sector: The businesses are operated and owned by
private companies and individuals.
