technological development brings among the target market of an online retailer. As these days
the competition within retail sector getting more enhanced as a result of which it is provoking
the players to bring more advancement into technology for achieving competitive edge and
satisfaction of customers. The current investigation is based on Amazon a leading E-commerce
organisation that operates in several different countries. For performing this study both Primary
and secondary sources are used to get adequate information required for accomplishment of
research aim and objectives. Under this for primary data Questionnaire is used by considering 50
employees of Amazon as they have thorough understanding regarding technological
development and its influence. By performing this study, it would be identified that manner in
which the technological development influence the customers perception and its influence over
organisational performance.

jewellery etc. Additionally it also distribute downloading and streaming of music, videos,
audible subsidiary, Amazon Publishing, Amazon web services (Piotrowicz and Cuthbertson,

upgrade technology it is crucial to firstly up-grade the infrastructure in order to make it
compatible with changes in technology. This is so because in case when the infrastructure in not
management proper then their remains a chances that new technology may get fail or bring

CHAPTER 5: RECOMMENDATION
By performing this investigation it has been identified that there are number of benefit
that Amazon mainly get from its regular technological development which support it in ensuring
higher growth at marketplace while achieving competitive edge. But despite of this there are
certain challenges that Amazon may face while bringing technological up-gradation such as
management conflict, budget and controlling cost etc. that may leads to the failure of new
technology. In order to deal with these issues following recommendations are provided such as,
 The managers of Amazon must ensure that the employees get proper guidance and
training regarding the actions they must perform while the process of technological up-
gradation. This in turn will support in keeping each and every employee regarding their
role and responsibilities along with the procedure to be followed to perform them which
help in reducing the chances of conflicts.
 The financial manager of Amazon must focuses toward estimating and preparing the
budget before the execution of plan so that any kind of issue related with budgeting and
controlling of the activities. Additionally, Amazon can keep a reserve fund for the
activities that is to be performed for technological up-gradation so that when extra fund
required then it can be pay off through this reserve fund.
CHAPTER 6: CONCLUSION
From the above mentioned information it can be summarised that the technological
development support up to a great extend in changing the customers perception toward an
organisation. This is so because the technological development is a practice which is mainly
performed for improving the quality of operations as well as simplifying the process that
customers perform in order to purchase good or availing services. It also support in enhancing
the profitability of company and at the same time help in improving the position of a company
within a market place. Therefore technological development is consider to be a most supportive
pillar that help in growth of the online retailers as with the continuous improvement and up-
gradation of technology it become easier for the online retailer to influence the consumer
perception in order to attract them toward their product or services.
By performing investigation over this it has been identified that the technological
development help in transforming the perception that customers have toward their organisation
by providing them information much quickly, offering them more personalised services and

ensuring the ease of performing actions. These all contribute toward forming up more positive
image in front of the customers as a result of which it ensure a greater influence of brand over
consumer perception. Despite of this, it has been found through this study that there are several
benefits that an organisation get with the help of regular technological development. This mainly
includes increase in organisational profit, more customer engagement and achievement of
competitive edge.
CHAPTER 7: REFLECTION AND ALTERNATIVE RESEARCH
METHOD
I am very much thankful that I got this opportunity to perform investigation over topic
“To investigate the way Technological Development has transformed the customers perception
regarding goods and services in retail industry in UK. A study on Amazon.” This support me in
enhancing my skills or knowledge and at the same time also help in getting an understanding
regarding the several aspects of technological development its impact, challenges or benefits.
This understanding will support me in my future career practices. While performing
investigation I also went through several type of tools and techniques that are mainly used by an
investigator in order to perform research effectively. This supported me in selecting right tools
and technique for performing investigation which not only enhanced my researcher skills but
also help me in performing my investigation in timely manner. For performing this investigation
I make use of both primary and secondary sources to gather the information effectively that
contribute toward the accomplishment of aim and objective behind conducting the research.
While performing this investigation, I found several issues like respondents are not ready to
provide their answers, time provided for investigation was very much limited etc. Then in order
to deal with these issues I decided to use questionnaire for gathering larger number of
information at a time. Additionally, I also send respondents with ethical form and informed
consent in order to assure them that they will not get into any trouble when they provide
information for the investigation.
