INTRODUCTION
A placebo is regarded as anything which seems to be existing in medical treatments but
actually in real world it does not. It could be associated with taking ordinary pill or fake
treatments which are not related or doe not have any affect on physical, social or medical health
status of individuals (Meichenbaum and Lilienfeld, 2018). The above effect assist researcher in
understanding different types of effects which may have on a body due to administration of new
drug or treatment on a certain health condition. The report will focus on explaining the placebo
effect to a member of the general public.
MAIN BODY
Placebo have been regraded as a substance or any other kind of treatment which look
similar to daily medicine but actually it is actually an inactive version of medicine or treatment.
The person who is receiving such treatment, typically have no idea about the reality of substance
which are being taken. Sometime the placebo takes a form of sugar pill or can be liquid or
injections which are designed in such a way that they seems to look like a real treatment but it
does not have any affect on illness. The researcher often take help of placebo effect to effectively
understand the outcome of new drugs on a human body. For example, in a study, a group of
people are administered new drug for overcoming insomniac condition while half of the subjects
would get placebo. In such case, both the group of people will not be bale to differentiate among
real treatment or placebo. The scientific researcher then analyse the effects of drugs as well as
placebo on both group of people. It has been found that placebo can alter the way people feel
even if it does not have that capacity to react or act on disease. Experts have a notion that there is
a strong relationship among how strongly an individual expects to get results and whether the
same result have occurred. The more stronger the feeling is, it is more likely that the person will
eventually feels positive outcomes (Rozenkrantz and et.al., 2017). If people expects to have
negative outcomes from taking medicines then they soon starts to feel the same way. From such
scenario it is suggested that people have huge relationship with expectations and outcomes.
The alteration or modification in person's symptoms due to placebo is called as placebo
effect. The effects usually lasts for acute period of time, such effects are frequently thought to
alter body's spontaneous chemical ability which are responsible in lowering pain or getting
relieved from other symptoms. The effects may sometimes have negative consequences which
