1ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT In the following paper, I would like to share some of my own experiences that I had gained throughout my study of the course of organizational development. The paper discusses the motivation that I had received during the completion of the given course. The paper also discusses an incident that I had faced during my internship in a small company The organizational behavior refers to the study that is conducted on the human beings who have been present in the business settings that are present within the organization. The course has helped me in acquiring knowledge on the various activities and responsibilities that are to be maintained by the human resource department of the organization. The organizational behavior further studies the interface that is present between the employees of the organization and the business organization itself(Griffin, Phillips & Gully, 2017). This has helped me in understanding and gaining knowledge of the ways in which the organizational workforce should be managed and motivated in order to successfully achieve the organizational missions and goals. The proper study of the organization further assisted me in developing an overview on the factors that need to be employed in order to motivate the employees of the organization (Wilson, 2017). The study of this module has motivated me to hone my leadership and decision-making skills. The course has also motivated me to make an attempt at developing the skills that are required for demonstrating the proper leadership skills and thus assisting the overall development of the organizational performance in the given market. The study of the organizational behavior assists the managerial staff to determine future goals that need to be achieved by the company. The study has helped me learn the importance of motivation that is provided to the organizational workforce so that they might follow the organized pattern of work that is being set by the managers in order to advance towards the achievement of the organizational goals as well. The study of organizational behavior also
2ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT helped me to understand the procedures that are followed by the managers in order to develop the strategies in a way that leads the employees towards the achievement of the organizational goals thereby affecting the competitive advantage of the concerned company (King & Lawley, 2016). I had experienced a great motivation during my internship at a retail firm in my locality. During my internship period at the organization, I had experienced a high level of motivation from my team lead as well as the other senior employees working in the team. I had during this interaction learned more about the motivational factors and the ways in which motivation helps the employees to deliver to the best of their capabilities. The module has further educated me on the personality traits of the employees which can be determined through the big five personality traits. I understood that this assists the distinction of the employees on the basis of the personality traits that are being implemented by the concerned human resource personnel. I felt extremely demotivated to implement the Myers- Briggs Framework as is stated by Newman et al. (2016). I attempted an implementation of the framework but however felt that the process to be hugely analytical and cumbersome in nature. In lieu of the above discussion, it might be stated that the study of the organizational development is necessary for the overall development of the organization in a given market. The organizational behavior helps in understanding and gaining knowledge of the ways in which the organizational workforce should be managed and motivated for the successful achievement of the missions and goals.
