WHAT DOES THE TERM EVIDENCE-BASED
MANAGEMENT (EBM) MEAN?
Rynes, Giluk & Brown (2007) stated that according to Rousseau,
“EBM means translating principles based on best evidence into
organizational practices. Through EBM, practice managers develop
into experts who make organizational decisions informed by Social
Science and organizational research.”

THE FUNDAMENTAL FEATURES EBM
According to Rousseau & Barends (2011), EBM combines four
fundamental features:
Utilises the best Scientific evidence from authentic sources
Outcomes of decisions on stakeholders and society
Improving on evidence by gathering organizational facts, indicators,
and metrics.
Improves decision quality, reduces bias, and increases valid learning
over time.

REASONS WHY HR IS ESSENTIAL TO CERA
Impact business strategy
Develop realistic compensation structures according to employees’ position
and performance
Ensures the workplace is safe and crises are managed properly
Deals with workplace squabbles
Assist with the hiring process
Train new members and develop old ones for higher positions.
