2HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENTIt is a job not a person that becomes redundantThe concept of redundancy is that the employer tries to reduce the work force due to thefact that the process or the job is not required within the organization anymore. The reasonsbehind making it redundant is not associated with the ability of the employee to underperformbut ius based on the following factors:Latest technologies that are adopted within the organizationCut down of cost within the organization by reducing the employeesClosing down of the businessThe current operations of the business has been taken over by another company (WoodSaundry and Latreille 2017)Relevant ACAS codes of practiceThe relevant codes of practice that are present under the ACAS are redundancy, whichmay arise within the organization and does not involve the non-competencies of the employees.Consultation helps in the coordination between the employees and the managers so that uncertaindecisions can be reduced within the organization. The criteria of selection help the organizationin choosing the best employees who can help in increasing the level of productivity (Dix andBarber 2015).Purpose of consultationThe purpose of the consultation is that it provides an equal opportunity for the employeesto share their problems so that new options can be developed within the organization. it helps indeveloping the cooperation between the employees and the managers so that the uncertainties
