IntroductionThe purpose of this study is to discuss the importance of human resource strategy inorganizations. The paper mainly discusses the human resource strategy of one of the biggestretail company of Australia; Woolworths limited (Woolworths Supermarket 2016). The papersheds light on the human resource practices by the company and in order to give a detaildescription the human resource management of the company, the paper critically analyzes thehuman resource practices of the company including selection, recruitment and retention of theemployees (Kehoe and Wright 2013). Along with that, it also describes the development strategyfor the workforce as well as their performance. While analyzing the human resource strategy ofthe company, some issues and challenges were found, which need immediate attention from thehuman resource management of the company. Possible suggestive measures were given so thatthe human resource management department of the organization can address the issues takeadequate steps to eliminate them. The recommendations given by the report help the companynot only in addressing the issue but also will help in further improvement of the human resourcestrategy of the company.
