INTRODUCTIONHuman recourse can be mean as the function that deal with the employees in theorganisation and related issues, like recruitment and selection, staffing, training development,compensation etc. This report is based on the Merill Lynch company which is investing andwealth management consultancy works under the Bank of America. This report will gong toexplain the functions and scope of the human resource management. Further more the strengthand weakness of the recruitment and selection also will be defined in this report.TASK 1Functions and scope of the HRMPurpose of the HRMHR management of the Merill Lynch company has performed different operation to fulfilthese purposes:One of the objective of HRM of Merill Lynch is to achieving the effectiveness andefficiency so that can help their employees to attaining the goal of the company.Another purpose is to effective utilization of the resources like employees and non-human resources to obtaining the goal for Merill Lynch (Stewart and Brown, 2019).One of the main purpose of HRM of Merill Lynch is to right hiring or staffing with thesuitable skill for the post at right time to attain the goal for company. Functions of HRMThere number of functions performed by the Human resource of the Merill Lynchcompany. These functions of HRM also helps to enhance the skills and talent of their employeesin order to achieve its business objective. These functions are:Planning: Planning is one of the major functions, Which performed by the HR managersof the Merill Lynch company to enhance the talent of their employees. For this they identifiedthe business objective first and then planning to hire those employees who have the ability tofulfilling set goal by preparing the job description, job analysis (HRM functions, 2019). This alsohelps the company to conduct the training program to enhance the skills and talent of theiremployees.Recruitment and selection: This also helps the Merill Lynch company to achieving thegoals of the company and to enhance the skills and talent.
