INTRODUCTION
Human resources are the prime resources for any business firm and there management
is prime responsibility of firm this will give arise to human resources management. It is that
branch of management which help firm in getting access to its human resources by effective
management of them it deals with recruitment, placement, training and development, pay
management and rewarding the employee for getting work throw them. Tesco will be chosen
as the base company in this project. It is largest super market in UK. In this report, impact of
human resources management in organization will identified to will also analyze that what
are the roles of HRM in firm and how it can be useful to firm in management of resources.
Impact of HRM in decision making ability will also be identified in firm (

Overview of Tesco
It is leading supermarket huge in UK with 30% market share. Firm deals mainly in
consumer products like clothes, packed food and many more. It is operating in seven
countries and has its global presence in market. Firm have more than 8000 stare across the
globe in which maximum are in UK where Tesco is originated. Tesco is also a leading
employment provider in UK as it provided 1 million jobs in a year to people of UK.

Employees are the life line of every business organization that’s why firm have the
main aim of to make an effective team which has consist of member who are serving to their
employee in effective manner and can make sure cooperate environment in firm. Workforce
planning is hat method which is used by manager for identifying the needs of workers in
origination and then makes a plan to fill all those vacant post in firm. This determined
knowledge, skills, experience of employees within the internal structure where firm can
achieve its objectives in long run of business (Onik, Miraz and Kim, 2018)
. Here Tesco has also similar plan that to implement workforce planning in there origination
and can achieve business objectives and targets.

management in workforce planning and achievement of firm’s goals.

employee performance in organization and will lead to profitability.
Human resources management also help in maintaining the work culture and ensure the

There are many functions which are performed by HRM in origination which are stated

Recruitment: The first function of human resources department of Tesco is to recruit
individuals in there on vacant posts in origination. Tesco is leading firm in which every
individual want to work , here HR department have to select qualified individual.
Placement and orientation: It is also function which has to be performer by HRM. In
this function, Tesco manager introduce new employees to existing employees as well as work
which have to be done by new employee in firm.
Training and development: This is most important function which has to be
performed by manager of Tesco because it is directly related to firm’s productivity. In this
function employees are trained for improvement in their skills and quality.
Compensation management: Compensation is important for restating employees in
firm and it is the function of HRM to manage pay of employee. Tesco pay its more focus on
this as pay of their employees is more that any other firm in UK. This has impact on
employee turnover ratio of firm (Brewster and Söderström, 2017).

There are number of methods of recruiting them but all the methods have some strength
weakness associated with them. Some of their method is stated below:
Transfer: This is the basics method for recruitment which is used in firm like Tesco
in this firm use to transfer its employee to different area or place with some increment in
authority. Here are strength and weakness in this method:
Strength:
Cost effectively method as no recruitment cost will incur by firm.
Retain talent in origination as there in no hiring from outside.
Weakness:
Demotivation in employee as there transfer will increase their work load.
Promotion: this is the method which is used by HRM department for filling vacant
post internally. In this method they promote the existing employee to higher level because of

firm this will also lead in in increase profitability of firm. Here there are number of benefits
which are related to employee and employer. Some are stated below:
Training and development: In Tesco human resources department provide good
training to their staff. This will lead to number of benefits to their employees like employee
will get motivated as they are now able to do difficult tasks which are seems to be impossible
for them prior to training. This will also help them in achievement of personal goals. Here
firm will get benefit of increase productivity of its employees because of training
development programme. This will also benefit firm in getting higher profits because of good
productivity in work (Pogodzinski, 2016).
Performance appraisal: Performance appraisal is that technique which is used to
measure the performance of employee in business firm. This is the main function in HRM
department of Tesco, they perform regular performance apparently there firm, this will
benefit employees in knowing their capacity and performance and will motivate them

performance is not getting good and help in taking corrective actions for boosting their
employees. This also aid in providing incentives and rewards to good performers in firm for

Flexible working environment: In Tesco the working hour management is done by

or individual capacity. This is done on the basis of various working management approaches.
This will benefit to employees of Tesco in reducing their work load. This will help firm in
using it employees in a well-managed way and will also aid in reusing wastage of firms

HRM department plat an important role in firm for achievement of firm goals and will
also help firm maximising profits and productivity in firm. There are number of rezones
which show how it helps firm in increasing profit and will lead to productivity increment.
Recruitment and selection: this is the first reason which helps in maximisation of
profit and brings productivity in process of Tesco. Here firm recruit the employees which are
highly qualified and have full knowledge of work. Firm doesn’t higher the people who are
top rankers but it higher those who have innovative mind as well as passion for work , these
are these persona which always stay motivated in firm and proving positivity in firms

improving the effectiveness of work this will also help firm in getting all the production done

Effective communication: This will help Tesco in maintains of effective
communication in firm as sound relation will eliminate delay in information and every
employee will understand the actual meaning of the information supplied because of good
relationship which includes understanding. This will benefit in HRM in making decisions
