1DISSERTATION PROPOSAL
Title
To evaluate the effect of communication issues, team incapability, workload and breeds
in relation to culture at workplace contribute the increase of mental health issues in the UK
Introduction:
The chief rationale of this research includes understanding the impact of communication
issues, workload and team incapability on the mental health of the healthcare providers in UK.
The term workplace stress can be defined as the response that individuals experience when
presented with excessive work pressure. According to Whitaker et al. (2015), excessive work
demand elicits work pressure which assumes a major form on account of lack of coordination,
knowledge and expertise of the professionals to handle their professional responsibilities. Over
the year, researchers have come up with various reasons that cause workplace stress (Jacobs et
al. 2014; Antonopoulou, Killian and Forrester 2017). The reasons include, poor work
organization, poor work design, communication issues, team incapability, excessive work load
and poor organizational culture. Excessive work stress has thus emerged out to be a matter of
serious concern in the world today. In this research, a literature review will be conducted the
structure of the literature review will be as follows:
Chapter 1: Stress, anxiety and depression as public health issue
Chapter 2: Common workplace issues that people may likely to come across
Chapter 3: Work-related stress and mental health
Chapter 4: Reducing stress level good practice

2DISSERTATION PROPOSAL
The chief aim of the research is to evaluate the impact of lack of communication, workload as
well as work culture on mental issues at workplace in UK
The chief objectives of the research are as follows:
1. To explore the contribution of stress, anxiety as well as depression in the workplace on
mental health issues in UK, which is also, considered to be one of the public health issues
(Haque and Aston 2016).
2. To evaluate how stress, anxiety and depression lead to absence of employees, fines,
compensation claims as well as loss of income and eventually contributes to increased
poverty.
Rationale
According to Beehr (2014), in today’s world, about 45.6 percent of the physiological
health related issues take place due to workplace stress. Workplace stress, attitude as well as
stigma towards employees suffering from physiological illness as well as mental illness have
been researched and various interventions have been developed. However, mental stress of the
health care providers has still remained a neglected aspect across various countries, including
UK and only a few learnings have been implemented in reality (Cooper 2018; Haque and Aston
2016). Through this research, the researcher will conduct an in depth analysis about the effect of
communication issues, team incapability and workload stress that breeds disrespect when it
comes to healthy organizational culture at workplace and contribute to the increase in the mental
health issues within UK. This in turn will help the future researcher to develop effective
strategies for diminishing the negative impact of work stress among the employees of UK and
thus help them to balance their professional and personal life in a better and an effective manner.
