Introduction
The advance of information technology and the digitisation of the information have
revolutionised many sectors of work. ASDA is not any different from this trend. The use of
digital information using the internet has vastly contributed to the development of any business.
The operational activities of the workforce were developed since the advancement of
computational technology that can be used to the various operational sectors like human resource
management, production, marketing as well as financing (Cearley Burke and Walker 2016). The
progress of ASDA can be easily mapped by tracking its progress with the help of information
technology. Promotion of the brand image in the social media can also be achieved which is
helpful in the business expansion.

Task 2: Perform small-scale research, information gathering and data
collection to generate knowledge to support the project.
P4. Carry out small-scale research by applying qualitative and quantitative
research methods appropriate for meeting project aims and objectives.
Research methodology
This sector determines the structure for the research of the project which allows the researcher to
devise the strategy for the research as well as conduct secondary data to confirm the hypothesis.
Research Method
The method of conducting the research was by organising a session of interview with
questionnaires backed up with evidence from secondary research.
Data Collection
The collection of data is very important for gathering evidence that either confirm or refute the
research hypothesis (Lewis 2015). The types of data being collected are divided into two
categories. The primary data being the experimental data that is the actual research being done
by the researcher, by the second category of data collection that is secondary data. Secondary
data is the form of literature evidence about the current topic of research which provides an idea
for devising the strategy for evidence (Ingram et al. 2016).

Data Analysis
Analysis of both secondary as well as primary data is important for evaluating the ultimate result
from the collected evidence (Ingram et al. 2016). The analytical techniques will help the
researcher sort out the result to either confirm or refute the research hypothesis.
Data Sampling
It is very important to set a standard sample for conducting primary data collection. The research
needs to be conducted on a particular number of samples, in these case respondents who will be
taking part in the interview process.
Ethical consideration
It is essential to adhere to the legislative and governance rights of privacy while conducting
research based on responses of human beings. In this project also it is required to maintain the
privacy of the respondents and conduct unbiased primary data collection.
