IMPACT OF TEAMWORK ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE
Reflective report:
The objective of this section of report is to reflect my experience that I gained during
my research work. All the facts that have been learned throughout the work and how my
knowledge is enhanced on the topic concerned are explained in this particular section. For
reflecting on the experience related to writing a research paper, I came to realize that the
entire process was thoroughly enjoyed by me. I am very particular and develop keen interest
about learning and when it comes to gaining knowledge. Since, I am a market supervisor by
profession, I am really very passionate about learning things that pertains to my future career
development and that is the reason why I opted for this process for writing research paper on
the topic of my choice.
The process of conducting research was easier was I was required to determine the
influence of one variable on another (Al Mehrzi and Singh 2016). Hence, there were two
variables into consideration for which the process of research was simpler and easier
compared to research process involved in multiple variables. Starting off my research, I
really did not have sufficient idea of conducting the research. Originally, I lacked the
thorough idea about the concept of organizational behavior topic. Before conducting
research, I did not have adequate knowledge about the organizational behavior and whether
the occupational performance in organization is influenced by it. However, now I can say that
I know more than I thought about the concerned topic. When engaged in conducting the
research, I gathered information from several sources where analyzing the literature review
helped me in gaining knowledge about literature of employee performance and teamwork. I
have been able to learn about behavioral aspects of employees and how such behavior
influences their performances in teamwork (Hanaysha and Tahir 2016).
During the time of reviewing the literature, I reviewed several materials and prior
research paper that was quite informative. However, findings generated from conducting

analysis of such review left me confused as I was not able to ascertain any direct positive or
negative relationship between the variables. In the research paper, I considered teamwork as
independent variable and employee performance as dependent variable. Reviewing the
literature widened my knowledge of several aspects of employee performance. However, I
faced difficulty in making any specific conclusion because teamwork was found to be
ambiguously connected with the performance of team. Conducting of research on the topic
“Impact of teamwork on employee performance” was an important endeavor that helped me
in acquainting with the benefits that working in team offers and thereby helps in promoting
the concept of teamwork (Hair et al. 2015).
I was thoroughly engaged in the research work but at times, it became difficult to
keep myself motivated. This research work was viewed by me to be divided into five parts
with planning being the first part. Research planning was the most difficult part of the entire
research process because I intended to match my ideas with the facts to be included in the
research paper about the information and relevance with the topic. I really found interesting
to interview the sales representatives and felt like contributing to the field so that something
new could be produced. The experience of writing research paper has assisted me as a young
market professional. Now, I am more confident about research skills and writing abilities.
Therefore, the whole experience of writing this research paper was enjoyable and valuable.
When preparing the research paper, I found that I possess the ability to review
number of articles in a shorter span of time. The personality that was enhanced included any
strength and weakness and personal style of learning. I have been able to stimulate my pattern
of thoughts by memorizing the academic concepts and ideas. Such research work has helped
in retaining as much academic information relating to the topic as possible. Reading and
deriving the facts from the previous findings of research has stimulated me in enhancing my
power of remembrance. Moreover, for ascertaining the relevant aspect of performance of

employees, I began through looking the abstract and names of different articles. I found
several research papers and articles on the performance of employees and what are the
different factors influencing their performance (Yanar et al. 2016). I have discovered that I
am very fast at discovering the new ideas and concepts and can pay special interest on the
different subject matter of the topic of research. Until I learn something new on the given
topic of concern or the topic which I am researching, I cannot be satisfied. However, I faced
few challenges during research work because I struggled sometime in understanding some of
the key subject matter. Other challenge was faced by me in deducing the research work as the
data incorporated in the study was very limited and this made it difficult to generalize the
result (Smith and Bititci 2017).
Furthermore, it should be mentioned that while producing this research paper, I
encountered some ethical issues such as maintaining the confidentiality of data that has been
collected. I ensured that the anonymity of the participants is maintained and their identity is
not revealed and this has been done by applying the ethical principles. I have tried to protect
the identity of subject by managing the private information. I have tried to avoid the breach
of confidentiality by keeping in mind all of its social and physiological implications. I have
taken all efforts to respect the views of participants whenever they refuse to provide personal
information as they considered as an invasion to their privacy. Another ethical issue faced by
me when producing paper was informed consent where the consent was given by participants
in an intelligent, knowing and voluntarily manner (Hanaysha and Tahir 2016). Any other
participants with cultural, physical and emotional barrier were also taken into account by me.
I make use of very simple language to make them understand the matter of concern.
When seeking the information on the research topic, I have found that the best and
reliable sources of information are the prior research work and peer reviewed journals. It is so
because they contain precise information required for any research project. However, any
