INTRODUCTION
Being a good leader is considered to be a very important part for the purpose to run a
organisation smoothly or managing the team in a successful manner. In relation to the current
report it basically focuses on the nature and importance of leadership, leadership skills,
development and traits and the characteristics of the leaders. As per the concept of leadership, it
plays a really important role in the organisation and is very important to have a good leader for
the purpose to run the organisation in a successful manner.
MAIN BODY
Analysis of Leadership
In context to Leadership, it is fundamentally defined as the capability to effectively and
confidently manage the organisation or a team for the purpose to achieve success. The leadership
is basically a fundamental trait and plays a very important role in identification of the trait extent
to which it can be applied. In context to leadership, there are various theories related in relation
to the leadership trait and their identification. The most widely used theories are behavioural
leadership theory and transformational leadership theory (Amin, Till and McKimm, 2018). In
context to the case study, the behavioural leadership theory helps in providing an insight in
relation to the efficient leader and the various aspects of the leader. In addition to that, the
fundamental traits which are in relation to the leader and behavioural aspects and which usually
comprises of the democratic, autocratic and laissez faire. In reference to autocratic, they are tend
to make various decisions without including the workers or the subordinates. In reference to the
case study, the laissez faire leaders barely use their power and allow the team to take their own
decisions.
They allow the team to perform and play as per their wish and gives complete freedom.
In context to transformational leadership, it is usually found out at almost all the levels. These
leaders are generally risk takers, visionary, daring, inspiring and thoughtful. As per the case
study of Australian cricket, it clearly shows the leadership vacuum which is impacting the entire
team and their performance in a drastic manner. Due to leadership used by the captain of the
team it drastically affects the team and also creates a major influence on their performance. Thus,
