INTRODUCTION
Leadership and management is the main part of any organisation where both person are
playing different roles and responsibilities that helps to improve the organisational productivity
and profitability. Managers are identifying the goals of organisation and allocate the roles of
employees so they can work effectively and properly. As we know that employees are the assets
of company who are contributing in organisational activities and performance by giving their
efforts that helps to attain the business goals and objectives. This report is based upon a leader
who is Alex Gorsky who is playing important role who handle the situation which arises in
organisation and maintaining profits. This report will help to increase knowledge about
leadership and management which improves business performance.
MAINBODY
As I was responsible to create a presentation on Alex Gorsky and while completing it I
was very confused because I was not aware of his achievements and work starting at stating of
this project. In this situation I decided to use effective approach and management theory that can
help me out to mitigate the risk of lower parks in project. I was the leader in the group which was
formed by lecturer. Herein, leaders are also important who understand the problems of projects
and other team members. I was unable to coordinate or communicate with other members due to
which they do not share problems and not complete the task which reduced the efficiency. In this
situation I used behavioural approach which is used to maintain the good behaviour of
individuals. In this approach leaders and managers behave in good manner and motivate
employees to work effectively. Moreover, trait approach is used in completion of the project
which states that manager and leader are having different skills and traits which helps to face the
challenges and problems effectively in order to improve the business profitability. By using this
approach, I was able to determine that how Alex try to mitigate the low productivity problems
and challenges which also helped to increase profitability. Leader are important who understand
the problems and provide a good solution which helps increases organisational productivity.
Apart from this, path goal theory is also used by leaders such as Alex used to decrease employee
turnover and improve the organisational performance. The leaders are providing assistance and
support to face the problems and maintain good profitability.
To improve the productivity by mitigating situation Gibbs model is used that is defined
below:
