INTRODUCTION
A SME family business activity owned and properly manged by the more than one
member of the same family. If anyone own family business then they probably worry even
more than the average entrepreneur about ensuring that their company not only survived but
also thrives to nurture the next generation.
This report will cover the new family business which is about Bakery. A family will
make cake with the unique design as per the customers demand. They will also provide
customize designed in the cake with a proper look and shape. For this business family will
recruit 4 employees and 2 extra employees for the home delivery. 3 among the 4 employees
will bake cake and 1 will work to sell (Alinaghian and Razmdoost., 2018).
MAIN BODY
Develop new Family business
The Clarke family wants to start their new family business, they are 4 members in total
Mr Clarke, Mrs Clarke and their 2 younger son. Both husband and wife have work in bakery
and they have knowledge of customized cake so they will start their own business name with
Clarke & family Bakery. The new Family business will be based on Bakery in which family
will sell customize cake and they will sell to the local area. This all will be and made cake and
fully customize as per the demand of the customer. Customers can give idea about the cake that
how they want, or they can give image of the cake so the family members can make the cake
accordingly. They will also recruit Employees who will work with them, and they will also
provide them training that how to customize the cake and make cake as per the demand of the
customer. For this business family will recruit 4 employees and 2 extra employees for the home
delivery (De Massis and Foss., 2018). 3 among the 4 employees will bake cake and 1 will work
to sell. This will be good opportunity for this family business because there are very less
competitors in the local area and the unique thing about this new family business in that thy
will provide customize cake in the affordable prices and customers can also take home
delivery.
Additional Clarke & family Bakery will also sell the other Bakery products like Pastry,
Cookies etc. and they will make each cake and other product with their hands. They will also
deliver the Cake directly to the home and fore that thy also have hired 1 delivery man ad
afterwords as per the order they will increase the number of delivery person. Customers can

book their cake on their own website which will provide them wide range of customized cake
options and they will also get the discount on the cake which will help to satisfy the needs and
demand of the customers.
Differences Between family firms and SME's
Family business and SME's busies have some differences which make them different
from each other and their activities and management is also different. If we talk about family
business them family business is run by the members of the family, and they are the owner of
the business, and they only manage each and every activity of the company, while Sme's
business are totally different which is run y the entrepreneur who find the investors who can
invest in their business and helps them to run their business. They also have to hire whole
teams for the different different department like for their fiance management, they will have
finance department, recruitment process will be done by Human resources and mangers, and
they will also need employees which can be around 200 (González-Cruz and Cruz-Ros.,
2016). People who do well in the business also get promotion in the SME companies, and they
also have proper rules and regulation which is necessary to the employees to follow so they can
get salaries and their wages for work.
`Family business in totally different business they do not require and Rules and
regulation and owner of the family business take the decision and give salary to the employees
who are working in their family business. Some members of the family business system think
more as family members; others as managers; others as owners. Non-employee family owners
want, need and deserve a role in the business's strategy, culture and governance system. They
have a large financial and emotional stake in the business.
The small family business run by the owner – managers only are less likely as compare
to the SME's owned business top experience the growth in the turnover and the employment
size during the 12 month after. Small business owner-mangers’ beliefs and attitudes towards
growth embrace family values and have a significant effect on the growth propensity of family-
owned SMEs.

because. The area where they will open their Business have very less Bakery and people have

online aces to their customers, so they can order their cake at their home, without going to the

customers. To satisfy the needs of the local community , it is necessary for the business to
understand what they really want and how they want and the Clarke & family Bakery
business also based on this concept. They will; modify the cake according to the demand o the
customers and their needs. Customers used to go so far to but the cake, but they can save
money by booking their cake online, and they can also save their fuel because they us vehicle
to reach to the Bakery but now they can order their Cake directly to the home and charges of
the delivery will also be very less so we can say that this new business “Clarke & family
Bakery” will able to add some value in their customers, and they can also satisfy the needs and
demand of the customers by proving varieties of the services and the product to the customers
and gain their loyalty.
They will also provide indirect support to the local community by paying the taxes
which is charged by the state government. Government uses the taxes to develop the
infrastructure of the local state and make schools and provide development to the local
community so buying product from the Clarke & family Bakery is also beneficial for the local
communicate.
