Responsibilities of employer and employee in infection control

4. Responsibilities of employer and employee
In the compliance of Health and Social Care Act, 2008 the employer responsibilities includes:
 Using systems to manage and monitor control and prevention of infection.
 The responsibility of employer also includes the providing of clean and appropriate environment to
the patient.
The responsibilities of employees are –
 The employees within the nursing home ensure that all the rules and regulations are followed
effectively and this takes concern of health and safety measures of the older adults within the nursing
home.
• Clinical nurses ensure that the operation theatres and the clinical area is cleaned.
• Using of equipment provided by owner and trustees of Nursing home for older adults is also need to
be ensured by the concerned employees.
As per HASAWA, 1974, it can be right to said that along with identification of the hazards it is
important that the adequate measures need to be taken by medical authorities so that the hazard can be
adequately deal. Likewise, for preserving the hazards the compliance of Health and Safety at Work
Regulations, 1998 should be ensured.
