1. Introduction:
The information system is the technology that consist of various software and hardware
to gather information from levels of business and process it. The processed data are provided to
the management for assisting in better decision making.
The study covers the issues that are needed to be resolved within Lilydale Movies. Based
on these issues the design and capability of the system will be determined. Scope of the system
along with system deliverable and constraints has been provided. The system requirements has
been proposed within the report along with requirement gathering technique.
2. Problems:
Lack of Communication within Organization: The major problem of Lilydale Movies is
that it does not have any link between the stores. Each store is running on individual software.
These software does not communicate among each other or share information. Taken as an
example, if a movie is not present at a store but exists in another in more than required quantity
then there is no way than manual inspection to recognize the situation. A connected single
software package or information system will allow the organization to manage the processes and
store from a single location. This will not only increase affectivity of business process but also
increase customer satisfaction level.
Customer Management: The consumers will be able to purchase from different store and
the history of the consumer will be accessible from all store at real time thus providing all the
benefits to the consumer regarding the store location. The system may provide a unique number
to all the customers for better identification. The customer will not need to bother about anything

but the services that want to use. The system will automatically identify the customer through
name and if required with additional details provide by customer.
Movie Loan: As the stores were not connected one person could loan from different
stores and took advantage of communication lack. A connected system will allow the stores to
gather all the information regarding the customer and only allow him/her to loan movie if all the
criteria is met. In addition to that, the customer can loan and return movie from different stores.
The system will identify the movies through the barcode printed on it and process the required
operation automatically.
Communication with the Consumer: The communication with the consumer is very
crucial feature of the system. The organization suffers from the lack of communication with
consumer that may affect consumer relationship. The system will store the email id and number
of consumer and contact him/her as per need. The organization can apply various protocols and
use strategies regarding better communication development.
Video Maintenance: The maintenance of video within the organization needs to be
updated. An automatic back process of calculating the amount of movies present in stores and
loan to the customer will allow the organization to effectively and efficiently manage movies.
