Introduction, Aim and Expectation of the Project
Baiparri Furnitures, established in 1980 as a
stall started its business with the selling of
sofas, beds and other furniture. With the
technological advancement and increasing
competition in the market the company is planning
to design and implement an information system for
the business.
Aim of this project is to design an online
business information system for the mentioned
furniture company.
The expected result form the planning is to
overcome the problems that the company is facing
at present time.

Issues impacting the Business
•Manual Operations – Manual management of the
transaction record in paper often results into erroneous
record in the sales record (Mbuvi, Namusonge and Arani
2016).
•Market Competition – Online portals for the customers by
other companies made the situation difficult for Baiparri
to sustain in the market (Ezrachi and Stucke 2016).
•Manpower and Customer Service – Manually attending
the customer’s queries makes the unattended ones wait
for a long time which affects the business. Besides hiring
more manpower would result into huge monthly
expenses.

Proposed Idea for the Information System
•Online Market Portal – Online handling of the business. Customers can sign in using Google,
Facebook or mail ID and can view and purchase the furniture online.
•Online Order Placement System – Lets the customers to see the details of a particular product and
can order the selected product.
•Online Payment System – Payment for the chosen products could be done by the customers through
credit and debit cards.
•Online Customer Service – Customers can place the queries to the executives for service
requirements.
•Cloud Database – Will hold all the records of the company and customers and the transactions too
(Li and Chang 2016).
•Accounting System – Will record the sales and the payments of the retail stores.
