Introduction
The internet of thing is one of the advanced information technology which connects
physical things with computer devices. Mainly, the internet of thing uses sensors for
detecting and sensing data or information. The use of internet of thing and sensors is
growing rapidly in the field of business and many companies are using IoT based
devices for controlling and managing computer devices. The objective of this paper is to
evaluate the importance of sensors and internet of thing in the area of business. A
literature review will be conducted in order to analyse the use of information
technology and sensors and results of previous articles. It is observed that the internet
of thing and sensors improved the overall performance of the business and provided a
platform to companies for controlling their computer devices and networks.
Literature review
The sensor used on the internet of thing is one of the common topics for research and
there are numerous authors provided their views on this topic. This literature review
focuses on the use of sensors in business and the significance of sensors on the internet
of thing technology.
According to Al-Taee, et al., (2017) business industries use various kinds of sensors in
order to obtain data or information from consumers and employees. This paper
identified that the internet of thing provides a platform for exchanging information
from one device to another by using internet connectivity. However, the internet of
thing uses sensor devices along with wireless networks for sensing data and
information. However, sensors directly interconnected with the computer networks and
internet of thing which process signals transferred from the source.
Bhabad and Bagade, (2015) provided their views on the internet of thing and sensors
and critically reviewed their significance in business. It is observed that there are
various kinds of sensors used on the internet of thing, for example, temperature
sensors, humidity sensors, motion sensors, gas sensors and so on. As compared with the
previous articles Gachet, et al., (2012) provided an in-depth analysis of sensors used in
IoT and highlighted their importance in organizations and business sectors. The author
