Innovation refers to all the processes and techniques which are adopted by an organisation in
order to improvise its existing products, as well as services. It is directed towards enhancing the
company’s performance and usefulness of its offerings. Therefore, in this relation, the following
presentation is based on Bentley Motors, which is one of the top companies within the United
Kingdom. The presentation would be highlighting the relationship and influence which innovation has
on the business practices of the organisation, which covers an overview of innovation, importance of
developing personal innovation skills, models used in innovation and how to develop innovators in
companies like Bentley.
Introduction

Innovation within organisations is very crucial in
order to ensure that developments and improvements
are being performed as per the requirement of time.
There could be a variety of manners in which a firm
indulges in innovation. For example, it could be
subjected to the company’s products, services, human
resource management, processes and technical practices
and so forth, all of which requires the firm to bring in
effective change in their systems to support the need.

As for innovation, it is imperative for an individual, regardless of their role in the organisation, to

allow the firm to engage in development of a completely new and innovative range of cars which is an
essential market requirement.
Review of Related Literature and Models

Literature:
•Closed Innovation: This idea is related to the fact that companies
themselves develop their innovations rather than outsourcing the same
or implementing on existing innovations.
•Open Innovation: In this method, the company does not completely
depend on its internal knowledge and capabilities; rather it approaches
outside sources as well for better outputs.
In case of Bentley, since the company has strong internal R&D
division and effective innovative capacity, it must opt for closed
innovation in order to ensure future success.
