INTRODUCTIONInternet refers to the interconnection of different computer networks that can be used asthe internet protocol suite. It is a network that consists of private, public, academic andgovernment that is linked to electronic and optical network technology. It passes large number ofinformation from one device to another. Through internet communication become easy betweenpeople as there are many sources which enhances the connectivity with internet such as mobilephones, computer, tablet etc. As internet is becoming more common nowadays as each and everyindividual is using internet for its own purpose. This report also include impact of internet onuniversity students in the 21st century. University students are more addicted to mobile phones sothat will destroy their career and is having great impact on it.MAIN BODYCompare and contrast between the positive and negative aspects of the internetInternet is the connection of one computer to other computer with the help of server orrouter. If two system are connected with each other through internet they will be able to receiveand transfer all type of information like videos, voice calls, graphics etc. Internet plays animportant role in transferring information from one person to another easily as if person is sittingfar away from it (Canale and et. al., 2016).As it makes life of the people simple as large numberof information is passes through different medium. It helps in making communication processeasy and simple and also makes professional relation with each and every person in the business.The main aim of the internet is to provide easy access to data and communication.Positive aspects of the internet Internet is making things easier as to do research. As in earlier times when internet is notthere students or researchers shave to go library and have to do more research topics. As it willbecome easy in browsing online through different internet sites. As internet helps in providingmore information at one time and always added new thing into it. Through internet nowadaystickets can also be booked or it also facilitates booking of movie tickets from anywhere. It helpseasy communication with friends, family and relatives. As students who are living outside fromtheir home is talking to their parents daily and can be able to do online video calling to them. Asinternet helps in sending pictures, videos and face to face commination as person who is sittingaway from it. It also facilitates as earning money from home as by filling online form or doingfreelancing work (Stoica, Mehdia and Sargu, 2015).As sellers and buyers can easily interact with1
each other by paying through online applications like pay pal, paytm, google pay etc. As it is notnecessary to maintain physical store for selling product into the market it can be directlypurchased from the factory. As paying bill online, managing the accounts in the bank is commonnowadays. As it also facilitate notification on regular basis so that it is providing an ease to thepeople. As internet also provides conferencing call so that it will help in saving travelling costand time of the managers and businessman. As they there is no need to meet them and havingface to face interaction with each other. As it makes possible at the time of accident that will helpin tracking the position where it will be held. As all the above are positive aspects of internet. Asthese positive aspect will help in gaining more knowledge to the students of university.Negative aspect of InternetAs internet is having negative impact on children, young adults. As children are moreaddicted to internet and it will create a bad impact on them. It will create obesity among thechildren that will affect their life in the future. As they are playing games on mobile phones asthey are not playing outside home (Laugesen, Hassanein and Yuan, 2015).Sometimes illegaland inappropriate information is also available in the internet that will affect the life of thestudents in university. As students are more addicted of using social media so it will create a badimpact on their lives. As it also create cyberbullying among the students that is the illegalactivity that is being practised among the university students. As they are more addicted tomobile phones so they even know the difference between the real people in the surroundings.Social media is applying barrier between the real and virtual friends that are available on thesocial media. As one of the major negative aspect of internet is pornography mostly the teenagersare more addicted to it. As it will create many problems in marriages as people is havingaddiction of meeting other people that will disturb marriage life as well. As some students isdoing illegal activities by seeing irrelevant information on it. As this is the largest problem oninternet every day as university students are facing. Some students are bunk their classes in theuniversity for playing games on internet that will have a bad impact on them. There is a great impact of internet on university student in 21st century as students aremore addicted to play games, using social media application so there most of the time will beconsumed by internet. In 21st century university students wasting their time on using internet as itis become an important part of their lives. Because of this they will not pay attention in theirstudies and fail in the exam that will create greater impact on their career in the future.2
