from international affairs. Under global market these issues are more adversely affect
operations of countries. Issues are arising in the country because of instability in the
marketplace. Major of these issues disturb the economic as well political issues. Legal
issues also affect the functioning of the country. As different country are having different
laws and regulations that arises different issues. As global issues is the major problem
that affect different functioning of the country. These issues also affect the poverty,
religion conflicts, inequality and lack of economic opportunity and unemployment in he
country.
MAIN BODY
Role of unions in employee relations in china
Trade union plays an important role in the maintaining the employee relation in
China. As trade union in china is having 137 million members according to the official
figure from the All China Federation of Trade Unions ( ACFTU). In china it is important
to virtually comes that represent the workers of union. Chinese party recognizes that the
union may sometimes lead to instability in country. As it has passed many labor laws in
china that helps in promoting collective contracts and have established tripartite
institutions that helps in mediate individual disputes in the country. While these laws and
institutions are applicable in the country by government body of China. The concept of
Collective contracts are very different from the concept of collective bargaining as this
dealt with the tripartite institutions in China (Bickmore and et. Al. 2017).
As china is although does not have proper unions that functioning well in the
country. It is worth in remembering that the whole nation of a labour market is
considered to be run by the government. In 1994 labour law that is introducing labour
contracts and these contracts are establishes in China. As there is no evidence with the
government for functioning of unions in the country. As people of china are in able to
cope and develop their proper representation for their common interest in the country.
As these problems are in unions come in every country. Every country is having
different market mechanism to run trade union in the country. As there is huge
membership of unions that are likely to remain invalid in Chinese labour relations. As
study is conducted in 2004 and 2005 that states that there are three companies in
Hainan Province that consist of the joint venture producing tripartite body in the country.

In these companies the unions are the sideshow that represent the workers in the
company. Unions are help in fighting for the common interest for the workers (Beck and
et. Al.., 2017).Trade union is formed in the company to protect the interest of workers in
company. These unions is having direct interaction with the company’s owner in fulfilling
their demands and wants in company (Role of trade unions in china, 2019).
Trade unions helps in negotiate collective contracts and that are to be involved
in the detail of payment systems in the company that helps in providing help to the
workers. The union is the china played three role that best meet requirement of workers.
Chinese labour law encourages union to sign the contract that comprises of collective
bargaining in the country. They negotiate in the company collectively to solve the issues
in the country. As these collective contracts are helpful for the unions in the country.
These contracts are set out to meet their requirement in the company (Guisinger and
Saunders, 2017). These contracts of trade union set out standards in the country to pay
labour minimum wages that is written in the contracts in government documents that the
laboyr is providing at least minimum wages so that their requirements is completed.
Safety also plays an important role in the company that every employee or worker will
be provided proper safety so that they feel secure at workplace. Such collective
contracts are referred to the management for maintaining the peace at work. As
individual contracts are hrd to solve the issues of union in the country.
As unions helps in maintaining the employee relation in china. Different country is
adopting different laws and regulation that are being regulated by the government of
country As these unions are struggle for their safety and health in the country. The
unions in China is more flexible as they are more involved in the country that are
operating trade union in there country. There are three unions that is made in China for
maintaining peace at the workplace. They also helps in maintaining western unions that
is operated in the late nineteenth and twentieth century so that common rule is
applicable in the country for protecting their interest. Secondly, party states that there
may be conflict arising due these common interest of different people. They also help in
maintaining and enhancing people works in the organization. Thirdly, there is
consciousness in providing them proper facilities to workers for safeguarding their
interest. This caused seriousness in the country (Patterson, 2015).
Furthermore, there is the spread of market mechanism for product and labour
markets. As the law says that but many firms do not try to treat with unions. Under this
market mechanism system the firm can improve the efficiency of enterprise or can
impose cost on employer. They are incapable of doing this and we can say this by
evidence that managers believe that the efficiency depend on their actions. Thus , these
collective contracts and tripartite institution are treated as shrug at the shoulders. As
this is implemented in the companies that laws are made not embraced on workers. As
unions will remain invalid that transmitting it to government policies of workers. As they

opposed in representing workers and enforce labour discipline to promoting policies in
the company. (Peters and Wolper, 2018). As they represent workers in dealing with
employers and the government. The wages that are being provide to the workers in
china. As they are collectively provide action to the unions that is not irrelevant to this
huge advance in workers, well being which is simply mirrors that is providing them
protecting interest for the trade unions. They on the other side helps in rapid growth of
the country. Greater safety provides and tempering of exploitation surely that require
both collective action and autonomous organization (Le and Raven, 2015).
As Chinese government wants that unions is providing an effective safety valve ,
then it has to allow them a degree that is offered to the workers that provide
independence to the workers. If they are not paying enough their workers are more
effective that lead to collective contract for representation that is recognized by far-
seeing in China. Manifesto for reform is including the need to help workers develop their
collective interest that helps in providing them collective bargaining in the country.
These workers help in providing them proper arrangements for the trade union. China is
a comprehensive legal framework that gives workers a range that provides proper
facility to the trade unions. Workers have to be paid fully by their employer that helps in
right for the employer (Anderson, Peterson and Toops, 2018). As workers have the
right of getting in full and on time employment of the country. Trade union plays an
important role in every country for developing the nation. As they are more helpful for
trade union to expand their interest in the country. As local government in china is
responsible for enforcing labour law. Local government are concerned with business
friendly environment than protecting workers right. It is the responsibility of labors to
take care about their rights that they are paid in full , proper contracts should be signed ,
compensation should be paid at time of any loss to their employee. The enforcement of
labour law has weakened over some decades as the economic growth was slowed
down by government as they focused mainly on local investment. The workers in china
do not have legal right to strike . The only option left with workers is that they have to
do strike to make their demand fulfill by their employers (Sagafi-Nejad, Moxon and
Perlmutter, 2017).
As in China ACFTU trade union work as the federation in the country that
enhances the growth of the economy in the world. As these unions plays an important
role in China. Trade union is the organization that work for the common interest for the
workers.
Environmental issues in china affecting the whole country’s population and health
of the residents. The main cause of these issues is industrialization. The government of
china is trying to minimize the by taking some precautions but the response was
inadequate. In recent years, citizens of china have actively participated in the protest
launched by china’s government. It was noticed that china’s environmental policies are

same as United Nations policy. This work of environmental protection is mainly done by
local government of china but the government mainly focus on economic growth of
country. The another cause of environmental degradation is deforestation. As
(Biermann, 2017). UNEP(United Nation Environment Programme) has given the list of
top 15 “closed forest” in which china is one country. Three gorges dam has displaced
many people from their houses. Yellow sea and south china sea are regarded among
the most degraded marine areas on earth. In china there are more desert than farmland
which leads to soil erosion. There is high level of pollution during winters in china which
causes health problems. China is most populated country in the world but its population
growth is very slow due to one child policy. As we know that pollution is very much in
china due to which many people are diagonised.Natural disasters are also responsible
for environmental degradation. To minimize this problem china will have to grow more
and more trees that will help in reducing deforestation in the country. They will have to
protect environment for maintaining the work balance so that it will enhance work. This
problem is related to managing a global and diverse workforce. If pollution is more then
it will affect the health of the people in the country (Payne and Askeland, 2016).
We all know that china is a developed country but then also it lacks in
environmental issues. In china’s rural areas coal and biomass fuels are still widely used
which create air pollution. China also started doing sustainable development but had not
contributed much to environmental problems. People of china should take safety
measures and follow them regularly to improve the condition of china (Kalimulli and
Masalimova, 2016). As at the time of central planning almost china’s industrial
enterprises were state owned. It is mandatory in these state owned enterprises. Labour
union plays an important role in the every country. As union in china is not seeing as a
force for an employer sand not allowed to organize the strike. It also not allow collective
bargaining in other parts of the world.
Theories on employee relation
There are three perspectives that is used in employee relation in china are as follows:
Unitarist Perspective: This states that the company have maintain harmony and
a group of people that create this environment considering one loyal culture. As
in this the employees are sharing their mutual cooperation that plays an
important part of it . As in china this perspective is being used as trade union
plays an important role in maintaining employee relation. As this perspective is
similar and is followed in much organization in china in maintaining employee
relation. As trade unions enhances employee relations.
Pluralistic Perspective: According to this theory organization is made up of
various sectional groups. Each group has its own identity, goals and leaders. As
trade unions are the sections of these groups in the pluralistic perspective. The

main role of the management is to coordinate all the activities in the company.
There is no conflict arise between employees as it can be solved by collective
bargaining approach.
Marxist Perspective: It is also called radical perspective. This describes nature
of the society. It emphasizes inequality in power I the employment relationship
and it uses as a wider scope in the society. Conflict is inevitable and perceived
by the management in the employees.
Union cannot force any member in organizing the strike or take part it as they are
independent workers who work for their own interest in the organization.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it can be concluded that union plays an important role in
the economy of China. They work for safeguarding the interest of workers in the
organization. Role of trade union helps in enhancing the employee relation in the
country. As they are providing the collective bargaining and helps in settlement of
dispute of the country. There are different theories that are applicable on role trade
union in maintaining employee relations. As without maintaining employee relations in
the company it cannot run as it enhances employee motivation among employees.
