Introduction
The entrepreneurial leadership is defined as one of the essential process of motivating
and influencing group of individuals to effectively work towards achieving common goals and
objectives, the entrepreneurial leadership continuously works towards achieving targeted goals,
maximising their profit through brining innovation and taking risk. It is the process where
entrepreneur continuously finds new opportunities available in the dynamic environment in order
to gain competitive advantage. This report includes various characteristics and skills that an
entrepreneur would needs in post COVID-19, global business. Also the leadership style best
suitable for the global airlines impacted by the COVID-19 and the resultant lockdowns. In
addition to this suitable leadership would assist in rebuilding the profitability and sustainability
of airlines while ensuring the goodwill of customers, employees and suppliers is also highlighted
in this report.
Task 1
Discuss and evaluate the detailed features and skills that an entrepreneur would have in today’s
post COVID-19, global business environment.
With growing dynamic environment where business are growing the entrepreneur also
needs to change and their skills and characteristics in order to manage the growing business
needs to be updated effectively (Canziani and Welsh, 2019). But the present pandemic has made
realised each business their dependency on a smooth sailing environment it was a effective eye
opener for the business. A year ago business were not at all prepared for this pandemic, it has
influenced the way today’s business and individual needs to plan their future efefctively6 in
order to grow and survive. This pandemic has forced many entrepreneurs to exit from the market
and many to come up with new innovative product and services in order to survive, the skills and
characteristics were challenged during this crisis. The way in which the business models are
affected will have profound effect on how the entrepreneurs will perceived their work in the
future, there will be requirement of effective skills and characteristics by entrepreneur to survive
during post COVID-19 (Çera and Çera, 2020). The detailed features and skills that an
entrepreneur would possess in today’s post COVID- 19, global business environment are
discussed below:

Passion: This is one of the essential characteristics that every entrepreneur has, the reason
behind the successful entrepreneurs is that they do what they love to do, they always follow their
passion, they are always seen working extra hard for their passion and get the best results
(Esempio, 2021).
Determination: The another characteristics of the entrepreneur is the determination, they
are always determined in what they do, they have positive outlook at what they do. The
entrepreneur is a person who is always determined to take risk and get the maximum results.
Effective people skills: An entrepreneur is someone who has great influencing skill, he is
someone who can effective communicate with their team member to effectively achieve their
targeted goals and objectives. These are the entrepreneurs who posses great people skills.
Creativity: An entrepreneur is someone who has the ability to find something innovative or
kind of relationship between two totally unmatched situations. These types of people always has
the ability to come up with creative situations for each and every problems (Greene and Brush,
2018).
Competitiveness: Another characteristics of an entrepreneur is that they are competent in
nature they are always ready to gain competitive advantage in the market.
Interpersonal skills: An entrepreneur is someone who has various interpersonal skills like
leadership and motivation, he always lead and motivate his team members towards achieving
goals and objectives also he has great communication and listening skills which lead him to
maintain good personal relationship with his team members.
From the above discussion the following characteristics will help an entrepreneur to
effectively deal with the present situation of international business environment. As the business
grows in size the entrepreneurs also needs to grow (HIDAYAH and SUJIANTO, 2020). With
changing situations ,many small business enterprises are evolving and developing which will
requires effective entrepreneurship skills and characteristics like competitiveness, determination,
effective people skills, in addition to this skills the entrepreneurs motivation for skills will drive
him towards success and growth.

evaluate how the suitable leadership would help in reconstructing the profitability of
airline.
The various leadership style best suitable to a global airline impacted by the COVID -19
are discussed below:
Autocratic leadership: This is the type of leadership style where leaders have the full
control and under this the decisions are being made by the leader himself without consulting with
anyone else.
Democratic leadership: The another type of leadership style is the Autocratic leadership,
under this the leader takes opinion of each and every one before taking any kind of decision in
order to motivate his team members (Machmud and Hidayat, 2020)
Laissez-Faire leadership: Under this type of leadership, the leaders gives full rights to his
team members to take decision, this type of leaders mostly focuses on encouraging its team
members to be innovative and self motivated, which will lead to effective results.
Transformational leadership: The another type of leadership is the transformational
leadership, under this leaders continuously works towards brining transformation in the work to
survive in the dynamic business environment (Marques and Dhiman, 2020).
From the above discussion the democratic and transformational leadership will be best
suited to an international airline impacted by the COVID-19 and the lockdown, travel bans and
restrictions, the transformational leadership style will help in building colourful visionary and
bring transformational innovative ideas in order to overcome the situation and think of effective
solutions. The democratic leadership will enables leaders to take corrective decision according to
the situation.
To evaluate the how leadership can assist in building the profitability and sustainability
of the airline while ensuring the safety of the customers, employees and suppliers the leadership
schools of thoughts can be taken into considerations which are discussed below:
Trait theory: According to this theory the leaders are born with are born with certain
traits which make them more suitable for the role of a leader (Ratten, 2018). This kind of leaders
with their inherit traits will enhance the profitability and sustainability of airline.

Behavioural theory: This theory focuses on the behaviour and qualities of the leaders;
according to this it takes lots of practices, learning and skills to be an effective leaders. Leaders
can enhance their skills to build sustainability of the airline.
Contingency theory: This theory states that there are different leadership style for
different situation, no one style can be applied to all the situation. Choosing the right style and
action can lead to building sustainability and profitability for the airline also can effectively work
towards the safety and security of customers, suppliers as well as for the employees (Rosenbach,
2018).
Transactional vs. transformational theory: The transactional leadership are the type of
leadership which focuses on given reward and punishment to its employees in order to motivate
them whereas transformational leadership focuses on building relationship with its team
members, the transformational theory will help in building good relationship with the customers,
suppliers and employees.
Authentic leadership theory: This type of leadership theory focuses on that leaders are
free to develop their own type of leadership style according to them or the situation. This allows
leadership to develop leadership style based on their own characteristics and personality. This
type of leadership theory helps in brining desired results and enhancing the sustainability of any
business model (Sergi and Scanlon, 2019).
From the above discussion it can be analysed that the above discussed leadership theory
will effectively help in enhancing the profitability and sustainability of the airline. Effective
adoption of leadership theory of like transformational or contingency will help in overcome this
situation. Also situational theory will also allow them to effectively work according to the
situation leading to the growth and profitability.
Discuss how culture will play important role in the leadership of global airline industry post
COVID-19 also impacting on airlines future growth.
The culture plays an important role in the leadership, as culture is the factors the directly
effects our perception about the society or world. The norms of the culture can be taken and lead
to the better or worst consequences (Torres and Augusto, 2019). The culture and leadership is
like the two side of the same coin, change in one will influence the another. In case of culture
which not always same in any case, and with the present situation of pandemic global it will

directly effect the role of the leadership. The business culture which is already set in the global
airline industry will be impacted post COVID-19, this will force leaders to effectively analyse
the situation (Veréb and Ferreira, 2018). The leaders needs effectively deal with the changing
culture, needs to understand the safety and security of its employees. For example, with the
changing culture, Emirates in Dubai starting to test its passengers for the COVID-19 before their
boarding the planes whereas the easyJet is taken social distancing into consideration. The leaders
needs to effectively work towards this changing environment (Yenilmez, 2018).
Conclusion
From the above report it can be concluded that entrepreneurship leadership plays an
essential role in enhancing the productivity and profitability of the business, a leaders is someone
who motivates and influence it team members to work towards achieving targeted goals and
objectives leading towards better outcomes. An international leaders is someone who ensure the
smooth functioning of the work at the international level. This report covers various
characteristics and skills that an entrepreneur will have in today’s Post COVID -19, global
business environment, also the skills and characteristics will lead to further growth is also
highlighted in this report. In addition to this various leadership style suitable for an airline
industry and also the part culture plays in the leadership is also explained in this report.
