Number of international visitors at Tasmania and their origin
Total number of International Visitors in Tasmania as recorded at the year ending in
December 2018 is 308,800. The number of international visitors increased by 11
percent compared to the figure in 2017.
The average spending of international visitors in Tasmania is $1779.
The visitors come in Tasmania for different purposes such as spending holiday, visit
friends and relative, business purpose, education, employment and other reasons.
Among the various purpose of international visitors, holidays account the highest
share.
The top five source of international visitors in Tasmania include China, United States
of America, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Among these China
constitutes the highest share (tourismtasmania.com.au 2019). Visitors also come from
Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, India and other Asian countries,
Germany, France, Scandinavia, Italy, Netherland and other European countries.
