INTRODUCTION
For a business to evolve, keeping up to date with technological advancements or any of
that matter is necessary to produce efficient results and good customer experience. Modern
workplace is an operational setup to help organisation grow by taking care of both physical and
technological demands of business and employees. Kentucky Fried Chicken, popular as KFC, is
a fast food restaurant serving best fried chicken, hamburgers, wraps, fries and even vegetarian
options and what not. There are more than 1000 outlets and many drive-through in united
kingdom and is world's second largest chains of restaurant (Chión and et.al., 2019). Company's
cultural and organisation structure is helping in breaking some myths about careers in fast food
sector. Organization main focus is on creating excellence in service and quality in food products,
benefitting all, the owner, employees and customers.
MAIN BODY
Organisational structure of KFC
To keeping the company functioning it must work with proper organizational structure.
Line organization, it is the oldest form of organizational structure and under this vertical level
relationships between people of firm. Down from managerial hierarchy to different levels of
mangers then their subordinates then down to up and running workers, it explicates authority and
responsibility at each level. For a company like KFC, line organisational structure has many
advantages like, it is basic and simple structure to understand and follow. For handling a large
organisation such as KFC, proper communication is necessary, and this provides fast and easy
communication, and a faster response on feedbacks. Responsibility is clear among employees,
creating no confusion of who is responsible for what (Pakarinen and Virtanen, 2017) This way it
is effective and economic. KFC will be flexible of changing conditions as each employer handles
it's own sphere. Few cons of this organisational structure includes, authority being dictatorial
resulting in increase in nepotism. Workload is on executive which lead to neglecting long-term
planning. Each department will be so self involved that they won't look after overall company's
interests.
Line and staff organisation is best for a large enterprise, basically, something like KFC,
they have both line and staff divisions. Staff units provide line department with advice and
