Introduction to the guideline
Nursing leadership is defined as the influence of a leader in the quality care
improvement associated with the direct participation of every healthcare professional in
clinical care. The primary function of leadership in nursing is to include an environment,
which has a clear vision and where the staffs are empowered and motivated (Ha & Pepin,
2018). The healthcare system associated with nursing leadership is a hospital setting. This
system includes the use of transformational leadership in nursing in order to empower all the
employees of the healthcare setting. Nursing leaders are defined as agents who have
followers inside the healthcare team. Nursing leadership is about having an empowering
vision of the al the healthcare staffs in their role of clinical practice. Nurse leaders must also
have skills such as valuing others, self-confidence and effective building of teams. Nurses in
a healthcare system require consistent, strong and knowledgeable leaders who are visibly
inspiring than others in supporting the nursing professional practice. The primary attributes of
a nurse as a leader include being an advocate for quality care, an articulate communicator, a
collaborator, a risk-taker, a mentor and a role model as a visionary (Fischer, 2016). Effective
leadership of the healthcare professionals has been found critical for quality strengthening
and integration of care. Various research studies have been performed on nursing leadership
which talks about the nursing leadership as a primary guideline for the improvement in
quality care of patients. According to the US nursing leadership guidelines, there are nine
principles, which are followed by every nurse leader. These principles include commitment
towards excellence, measuring important things, building a culture, creating and developing
leaders, focusing on employee satisfaction, building individual accountability, aligning
behavior goals with the values, all level communication and recognizing success.

Discussion of the adherence of healthcare professionals to this guideline
Every healthcare professional staring from nurses, followed by pharmacists,
technicians, nurse educators and CFOs are held to this guideline. First comes the nurses, in
the list of adherence to nursing leadership. A nurse shows leadership by admiring as role
models, being courageous at certain critical situations, earning their status as role models and
empowering all the nursing staffs who are under the supervision of a leader nurse. The
pharmacists are also held under the nursing leadership guideline. Nurse and pharmacists
including all the professionals of the multidisciplinary team need to perform their working
process together in order to improve the outcomes of the patient and help the patients in
getting their medicines at correct times (Cable & Graham, 2018). Thus, it can be stated that
pharmacists are also held under the nursing leadership guideline required to improve the
quality care of the patients. This factor associated with pharmacy has been found to be
discussed in another research paper. Nurse educators have also been found to help under the
guidelines of nursing leadership. This practice has been found to help the nurse educators
teaching process and empowering the nurse students. Thus, it can be stated that all healthcare
professionals are associated with the guidelines of nursing leadership.
Research used to adopt the guideline
According to Jack, (2019) there are various robust empirical pieces of evidence which
supports the conclusion of infant immunization associated with measles, rubella, mumps and
other vaccinations. Nursing leadership has been found to be very much effective in
understanding the values and beliefs towards vaccination. This guideline helps the individual
nurses in taking important decisions associated with vaccination. Primary community
healthcare has also been found to be improved in quality by the use of nursing leadership
guidelines. In another research performed by Hafsteinsdóttir et al., (2017) nursing leadership
is an essential guide for nursing research and clinical practice in various countries.
