within the economy for attainment of organisational goals as well as objectives.
Importance of Motivation
It leads to increment in productivity levels of employees. In this regard, it is seen that the

corporate goals within due course of time. Motivated staff possess extensive dedication and
commitment towards the organisation and exhibit keen interest in carrying out business practices
in an effective manner. Thus, it can be acknowledged that motivation plays a key role in
encouraging the employees to work as per the organisational requirements.

The management of TESCO has proposed to come up with Jack discount stores at market
place. Such strategic course of action is being undertaken in order to establish a strong position
against the biggest rivals of the respective retailer, namely, LIDL and ALDI. The new stores
would adopt competitive pricing model and have culture as well as values similar to the other
outlets of TESCO. The management wants to make sure that the staff in these stores stay
motivated at all times and for this purpose, it centres its due focus upon the use and application
of motivational theories. In this regard, the management of respective retail corporation has
decided to implement Herzberg and Maslow's Motivation theory.
