INTRODUCTION
The management is process to manage the things in proper way that common goal can be
achieved successfully (TIMES, 2017). The Morrisons is the fourth largest chain of supermarket,
they are having talent people to perform the organisational activities. This report will evaluate
the management structure and function of Morrison. The interrelation of marketing with other
department is analysed, the management fucntion and management practises are also determined.
Furher, the evaluation of talent management and culture of Morrison.
MAIN BODY
Management structure and business function
The management structure is a process of company to coordinate the management
hierarchy (Joseph and Gaba, 2020). This involves methods to allocate, coordinate as well as
supervise the activities to achieve the goal of organization. Business function are the activities
which are distributed in core and supported functions.
Different type of organizational structure
Hierarchical organizational structure: This is structure where command are basically direct
from top to bottom. Senior people take the decision which are important.
Advantages
The people who are following hierarchical structure are having clean authority line and no
misconception between the people.
Communication is being in people who are superior and subordinate and single person is
connected with another one.
Disadvantages
The power and the authority are being centralized as all the command are coming from higher
authority people and other have to follow the same.
The thinking has become isolated so people are not able to think more creative.
Functional organizational structure: In this organization is being divided into small groups
which is being specialized in particular area.
Advantages
When the structure is functional they become specialized as they are focussed on single area of
working.
